Roblox used RDC 2026 on September 11, 2026 to reveal Roblox Everywhere, a distribution plan that will let creators offer games as standalone apps across mobile, PC and consoles. Browser play is scheduled for late 2026, starting with Chrome and requiring no Roblox app installation, while offline solo play is planned for mid-2027 with early access coming sooner. Roblox will continue providing the underlying technology and services as creators gain more ways to distribute and run their games.

Roblox Everywhere changes how games can be distributed

Roblox announced a major expansion of its game distribution model at RDC 2026. Under the Roblox Everywhere initiative, creators will no longer be limited to reaching players through the traditional Roblox app experience. They will gain options for standalone apps, direct browser play and, later, offline solo experiences.

The features are being introduced in stages rather than as one simultaneous release. Roblox lists Roblox Everywhere for late 2026, browser play by the end of 2026 and offline solo play by mid-2027.

Creators will be able to release standalone game apps

Roblox Everywhere gives creators the option to make a Roblox game available as its own standalone app. Roblox specifically names mobile devices, PCs and consoles as targets for this distribution model.

The company says Roblox will continue powering the underlying technology and services. The announcement therefore describes a different way to distribute a game built on Roblox rather than a plan to separate those games from Roblox's technology stack.

This approach can place an individual game more directly in front of its audience. Instead of the player first entering the wider Roblox application and then locating a game, a creator will be able to distribute that game as a standalone application.

Chrome will run Roblox games without an app install

The web player is the second major part of Roblox Everywhere. By the end of 2026, players will be able to open a supported game's Experience Details Page in Chrome and join from inside the browser without installing the Roblox app.

Roblox is also designing the web player around direct links. A creator can share an Experience Details Page URL through an outside service, and the player who follows it can move directly toward the game instead of first installing the Roblox client.

The browser rollout gives creators another distribution route for promotional links. A video description, social post or message can point at the game page, and supported players can begin playing through Chrome rather than stopping to install a separate client first.

Offline solo games are planned for mid-2027

Roblox also announced offline play, extending the engine toward games that do not need a constant connection for every play session. The feature is specifically described as offline solo play rather than offline multiplayer.

Creators will be able to enable an offline solo experience alongside a live multiplayer mode. This allows one game to have an online mode for connected play and a separate way for a player to continue alone when Internet access is unavailable or unreliable.

Roblox gives mid-2027 as the target for offline play and says early access is coming sooner. An exact early-access date was not included in the RDC announcement.

Note: Offline play is a future feature. Roblox announced availability by mid-2027 rather than making offline solo play generally available at RDC 2026.

The new model targets more places where players find games

The distribution changes are built around reducing the steps between discovering a game and starting it. Roblox specifically describes links coming from search results, YouTube, X, emails from friends and creator social channels as routes into browser play.

Standalone apps provide another route by allowing an individual Roblox game to exist as a separate application across supported device categories. Browser play removes an installation step, while offline solo play addresses situations where connectivity is limited.

  • Standalone apps expand game distribution across mobile, PC and consoles.
  • Web player links can take players directly to an Experience Details Page.
  • Chrome is the first announced browser for no-install play.
  • More browsers are planned after the initial rollout.
  • Offline solo play extends supported games into situations without a reliable connection.

Roblox is also broadening the kinds of games its engine supports

RDC 2026 places Roblox Everywhere alongside engine changes intended to support a wider range of games. Roblox says its platform has historically been associated most strongly with 3D multiplayer worlds, and it is adding tools intended to make 2D games and puzzle games easier to build.

The announced engine additions include an orthographic camera, animated image containers and direct sprite-sheet importing. Roblox also plans UI improvements including blur, text shadows and improved gradients.

Turn-based and asynchronous multiplayer games are receiving additional support as well. A notification system designed to alert players when it is their turn is scheduled for Studio Beta in October 2026 and full release by the end of the year.

Roblox Everywhere begins rolling out in late 2026

The RDC26 creator roadmap places Roblox Everywhere in late 2026. The newsroom announcement gives the browser player a more specific target of the end of 2026, while offline solo play is scheduled for mid-2027.

The result is a multi-stage expansion of how Roblox games can reach and retain players. Creators will be able to distribute individual apps, let players enter supported games through browser links without an install and eventually provide solo experiences that continue without an active connection, while Roblox remains responsible for the technology and services beneath those games.
