Nine Tails Strikes Returns September 16
Free Fire is reopening its NARUTO SHIPPUDEN Chapter One collaboration for a month-long run from September 16 through October 15, 2026. Nine Tails Strikes returns with changes to Battle Royale, another version of the Hidden Leaf Village, a new Ninjutsu skill and a new reward route built around Hinata Hyuga and Jiraiya.
The collaboration is tied to the OB55 update. It is not a simple rerun of the original event because several of its central systems have been changed or expanded.
| Content | What is new or returning |
|---|---|
| Event period | September 16 through October 15, 2026 |
| Hinata Hyuga | New Hinata Bundle and her first Free Fire appearance |
| Nine Tails | Returns with the new Sharingan: Control mechanic |
| Ninja Academy | New landmark inside the Hidden Leaf Village |
| 8 Trigrams Palm Rotation | New defensive Ninjutsu skill |
| Pick-One Grand Prize | Choose the Hinata Bundle or Jiraiya Bundle after completing missions |
Players Can Command Nine Tails
The returning Nine Tails Battle Royale event keeps its match-changing attacks, but OB55 adds a new way for players to directly use its power. During a match, Sharingan: Control can appear on the map. Capturing it lets the player select an area for Nine Tails to strike.
| Nine Tails mechanic | Effect |
|---|---|
| Aircraft attack | Nine Tails hits the aircraft with a Tailed Beast Bomb and sets it on fire. When the countdown ends, remaining players are forced to eject. |
| Arsenal attack | Nine Tails opens Arsenals so players can enter without an Arsenal Key. This version applies on Bermuda. |
| Ground attack | Nine Tails creates a crater containing loot on Bermuda. |
| Sharingan: Control | The player selects a target area and calls in a Tailed Beast Bomb attack. |
The player-controlled attack gives enemies a five-second danger warning before impact. The Tailed Beast Bomb then deals 60 explosive damage to players within a 100-meter radius.
The explosion also creates between eight and ten flame spots. Each has a four-meter radius, lasts between five and ten seconds and deals five damage every 0.5 seconds to players standing inside. Leaving the flames does not immediately end the effect, because affected players take one additional damage per second for two seconds.
8 Trigrams Palm Rotation Joins the Ninjutsu Pool
The collaboration adds 8 Trigrams Palm Rotation as a new Ninjutsu skill. Activating it moves the player forward and creates a rotating chakra shield for 3.5 seconds.
The shield knocks back enemies within range and deals 25 damage. It also absorbs incoming bullets and can deflect some throwable attacks, giving the new skill a defensive role that differs from the more direct offensive Jutsu returning with the event.
| Ninjutsu skill | Main effect |
|---|---|
| 8 Trigrams Palm Rotation | Creates a defensive chakra shield, knocks enemies back and absorbs incoming attacks. |
| Fireball Jutsu | Launches an explosive fireball that damages and burns enemies and Gloo Walls. |
| Water Dragon Jutsu | Launches a water attack that damages enemies and briefly blocks vision. |
| Great Breach | Damages enemies while reducing movement speed and rate of fire. |
| Rasengan | Dashes forward, damages the target and reduces movement speed and rate of fire. |
| Chidori | Performs a high-speed dash attack that disables Gloo Wall deployment and minimap use for a short period. |
| Cherry Blossom Clash | Dashes into an enemy, deals damage and knocks the target back. |
Shuriken and kunai also return as secondary weapons, giving the collaboration another set of NARUTO-themed combat tools alongside the Ninjutsu cards.
Hinata and Jiraiya Lead the Reward Track
Hinata Hyuga makes her first Free Fire appearance through the new Hinata Bundle. The outfit recreates her NARUTO SHIPPUDEN appearance, and the event interface also contains an interaction based on her Twin Lion Fists technique and Byakugan.
The collaboration introduces Free Fire's first Pick-One Grand Prize system. After completing missions, players can select either the new Hinata Bundle or the Jiraiya Bundle as their preferred grand prize.
Additional themed cosmetics include Tsunade's Cloak, Gaara's Tattoo Facepaint, Kakashi's ANBU Black Ops Mask and the Froggy Wallet elimination crate. Bundles based on Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura and other returning characters are also available during the collaboration period.
Note: The collaboration runs through October 15, 2026. The Hinata or Jiraiya grand prize is tied to completing the event missions rather than being granted immediately on login.
Clash Squad Also Gets NARUTO Gameplay
NARUTO SHIPPUDEN content is not limited to Battle Royale. Clash Squad receives its own themed changes during the OB55 collaboration.
- Ninjutsu and kunai can be purchased through the Clash Squad Store.
- First-round pistols are replaced by shurikens.
- Cyber Airdrops become Ninjutsu Scroll Airdrops.
- Hidden Leaf Village joins the Clash Squad map pool.
The collaboration also brings back music from the anime. Blue Bird plays during the parachuting phase, while the NARUTO Main Theme is used as the collaboration lobby music.
