Conduit Energy Barricade refresh

Apex Legends is getting a Conduit refresh in update 30.1, detailed by Electronic Arts on September 10, 2026. Energy Barricade will deploy faster, gain clearer placement feedback and a forward-line formation option, while Conduit's Level 2 upgrades Battpack and Bigger Jam are being replaced by Concurrency and Jammed Up. Radiant Transfer will also show a shield-bar preview for the temporary shield it is set to generate. EA says the full Marked Split 2 patch notes will be published on September 14, 2026.

What Apex Legends 30.1 changes for Conduit

Conduit's 30.1 refresh focuses on making her existing support kit easier to read and giving Conduit more control over Energy Barricade. The Tactical update is small but practical, while the Ultimate receives changes to deployment speed, placement feedback, jammer spacing and formation control. Her Level 2 upgrade pair is also being rebuilt around different ways to use the Ultimate.

Energy Barricade gets faster deployment and new formation control

The largest part of the refresh is Conduit's Ultimate. Energy Barricade is being adjusted so the deployment sequence is faster, which shortens the time before Conduit can return to her weapons. The placement interface also adds a new HUD element and targeting visuals that indicate whether the jammers would break when placed at the current target.

The jammers will spawn higher and slightly closer together. EA says this creates a tighter formation that covers more vertical space. Conduit can also toggle the Ultimate while aiming to deploy the jammers in a forward line instead of the standard horizontal formation.

That extra formation choice is important to both new Level 2 upgrades. Concurrency is built around placing more than one smaller barricade, while Jammed Up strengthens the control effect of a single jammer field.

Concurrency and Jammed Up replace the old Level 2 choices

Battpack and Bigger Jam are being reworked into two new Level 2 options. Both choices now focus directly on different ways to use Energy Barricade.

UpgradeWhat it doesTradeoff or focus
ConcurrencyLets Conduit refire her Ultimate once within 10 seconds of the first use with no cooldown. Each barricade has 2 fewer jammers and uses a tighter formation, so each one covers less space by itself.
Jammed UpIncreases jammer radius and adds a jamming debuff when enemies are hit.The debuff obscures information on enemy HUDs rather than applying mobility control such as movement or turn slowing.

Concurrency lets two barricades be combined into custom layouts. EA specifically describes formations such as an X, V or L by pairing the second cast with the new forward-line deployment toggle. Jammed Up takes the opposite approach by making each jammer affect a larger area and adding information denial to enemies caught by it.

Radiant Transfer gets a clearer temporary shield preview

Radiant Transfer is not receiving the same scale of mechanical change as the Ultimate, but its feedback is becoming more explicit. Conduit and affected allies will see a preview on the shield bar that shows how much temporary shield is expected by the end of the regeneration period.

The change is meant to make the incoming shield easier to judge during a fight. Instead of watching the regeneration without a clear endpoint, the shield bar will show the amount being built toward while the effect is active.

Why Conduit is being revised again after Season 29

Season 29 already changed Conduit substantially. Split Charge was incorporated into her base Tactical, new Level 3 upgrades were introduced, and the development team said it still wanted to spend more time on improvements for her Ultimate. The 30.1 refresh is the follow-up to that earlier work, with Energy Barricade now receiving the larger redesign that was left for a later update.

EA says Conduit's pick rate and encounter win rate rose after the Season 29 changes, but her success also reduced variety among squad compositions and pushed other Support choices out of the meta. Her Tactical regeneration was later toned back, while the team continued working toward a kit that is more skill-expressive and competitive within the Support class.

What happens next for update 30.1

The September 10 designer notes cover the design direction for Conduit, along with separate buffs for Fuse and Catalyst and a review of weapon and loot changes from the start of Marked. EA says the complete patch notes for Marked Split 2 will be published on September 14, 2026. EA describes those patch notes as the comprehensive log of changes coming in Marked Split 2.

FAQ

6 questions

Conduit is getting a faster and more flexible Energy Barricade, a new shield preview for Radiant Transfer, and two reworked Level 2 upgrades called Concurrency and Jammed Up.

Energy Barricade will deploy faster, return Conduit to her weapons sooner, add clearer HUD and targeting feedback, place jammers higher and closer together, and allow a forward-line formation while aiming.

Concurrency lets Conduit fire Energy Barricade a second time once within 10 seconds of the first use with no cooldown, but each barricade has 2 fewer jammers and uses a tighter formation.

Jammed Up gives Energy Barricade jammers a larger radius and applies a jamming debuff that obscures information on an enemy's HUD without adding the movement or turn slowing effects associated with Crypto's EMP.

Conduit and allies affected by Radiant Transfer will see a preview on the shield bar showing how much temporary shield will be generated by the end of the regeneration period.

EA says the full Marked Split 2 patch notes will be published on September 14, 2026.
