COSM-GAME Apex Legends
Apex Legends is a free-to-play first-person hero shooter developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. Players choose from a roster of Legends with distinct abilities and combine their skills with weapons, movement, positioning, and squad coordination. Battle Royale sends teams into large maps where they collect equipment, survive the closing Ring, revive fallen teammates, and fight to become the final squad alive. Additional competitive and experimental modes provide faster ways to learn Legends, practice gunplay, or play outside the standard Battle Royale rules.

Season 30: Marked remains the current Apex Legends season after launching on August 4, 2026. Its major changes include Bloodhound's ability rework, buffs for Loba and Rampart, the World's Edge update, Corrupted Attachments, and an overhaul of energy weapons. A live-game hotfix on August 26 restored Octane's passive healing, corrected rare Battle Royale action lockouts, fixed a Gibraltar sprint interaction, and addressed reconnect movement problems. On September 2, EA also expanded controller anti-cheat detection and enforcement across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Release date and status
Apex Legends released globally on February 4, 2019 at 20:00 UTC. Native PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions launched on March 29, 2022, and Nintendo Switch 2 followed on August 5, 2025. The original Nintendo Switch version became unplayable on August 4, 2026 and is no longer a current supported platform.

Platforms and availability
Apex Legends is currently playable on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. PC players can use the EA app, Steam, or Epic Games Store, while console players obtain the game through PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, or Nintendo eShop. Cross-play connects all currently supported platform families.
Gameplay and setting
Apex Legends is a squad-based first-person hero shooter. The current roster contains 28 Legends, with Axle as the newest Legend, divided across Assault, Controller, Recon, Skirmisher, and Support classes. Each Legend has a passive ability, a tactical ability, and an ultimate ability that can be combined with squadmates' kits and the game's gunplay and movement systems.
Core play includes Unranked and Ranked Battle Royale, where squads enter a large map, collect weapons, attachments, armor, healing supplies, and other equipment, and reposition as the Ring closes around the playable area. Apex Legends also uses systems including Jumpmaster-controlled drops, contextual Ping communication, Respawn Beacons, Death Boxes, Care Packages, EVO progression, and Legend class perks.
Freestyle modes provide alternatives to standard Battle Royale. Wildcard changes rules around Legends, weapons, upgrades, healing, and looting; Bot Royale Evolved gives players a lower-pressure environment to learn the game; and Mixtape rotates faster combat modes such as Team Deathmatch, Control, and Gun Run. The official maps hub currently lists Broken Moon, E-District, Kings Canyon, Olympus, Storm Point, and World's Edge.
The Apex Games take place across the Outlands within the wider Titanfall universe. Story development continues through seasonal events, changing maps, character stories, cinematics, and interactions between the Legends and factions operating across the Frontier.
