Black Tides is not available on a fresh save. Players must finish Naoe and Yasuke's main story plus the post-launch quests A Critical Encounter and A Puzzlement. Domains unlock at level 30 as repeatable build-crafting challenges: five simulations across ten challenge levels, with higher levels applying more modifiers. Ubisoft lists Domain rewards as new and remixed outfits, weapons, trinkets, engravings, an exclusive shop, in-game currency and a progression tree.
The Riptides and Undertow crossover Projects are reached through the Animus HUB and progress through Anomalies. They are not available on Nintendo Switch 2, because they contain crossover content with Black Flag Resynced, which Ubisoft says is not releasing on that platform. Anyone returning for this update should check their save against the Black Tides and Domains requirements before downloading.

Ubisoft also changed perk behaviour, increased some damage values, adjusted boss armour interactions, raised Corrupted Castles to six per season, improved pin and world-marker persistence, and added handheld GPU performance improvements on Nintendo Switch 2.
