Gameplay overview
Players switch between Naoe, a shinobi built around stealth and agility, and Yasuke, a samurai focused on direct combat and heavy weapons. Their equipment, skills, and tactical strengths create distinct approaches to the same open world.
Naoe can exploit darkness, sound, a grappling hook, tools, and assassination routes. Yasuke can break through enemies with heavier weapons, armor, and direct confrontation. Dynamic weather and seasonal changes alter parts of the environment.
Story, setting, or main mode
The story is set in late Sengoku-period Japan during a time of conflict and political change. Naoe and Yasuke begin from different backgrounds before their stories intersect.
The open world combines castles, towns, ports, countryside, temples, and shifting seasonal conditions while the protagonists pursue targets, alliances, personal goals, and the larger Assassin’s Creed conflict.
