Wuthering Waves Version 3.6 Adds Qingxiao and Jingran

Wuthering Waves Version 3.6, "Lamplight in Mirage, Sword's Resolve in Heart," goes live on August 20, 2026, after a scheduled maintenance period that runs from 4:00 AM to approximately 11:00 AM (UTC+8). Players in the Americas will receive the update on the evening of August 19 due to time zone differences. Preload became available on August 18 at 10:00 AM (UTC+8), so the client download can be completed before maintenance ends.

Version 3.6 splits its new characters across two banner phases. Phase 1 opens at launch with Qingxiao's debut Convene, "Wind of Transcendence," alongside a rerun of Denia in the "False Promise for Tomorrow" Convene. Phase 2 follows with Jingran's debut in "Where Santu Beckons," and reruns of Hiyuki and Mornye in "Thousand Futures Mirrored in Snow" and "Distant May the Starlights Be."

Qingxiao

Qingxiao is a 5-Star Aero Sword Main DPS. Her kit centers on alternating between Sheathed Stance and Drawn Stance Basic Attacks to build Qin Heart and Sword Cadence, which open up her Heavy Attack and Ephemeral Transcendence state. Her Mindlock mechanic stacks up to 15 times as teammates inflict Tune Strain — Interfered on enemies, increasing the damage her key skills deal to marked targets. Her signature weapon is Glint of Clouds, available through the "Glint of Clouds" Featured Weapon Convene in Phase 1. She also comes with a purchasable outfit accessory, Cloudbloom.

Jingran

Jingran is a 5-Star Fusion Broadblade DPS who debuts in Phase 2. His signature weapon is Thousandfold Deliverance, available through the "Thousandfold Deliverance" Featured Weapon Convene. His outfit accessory is called Snowpaw.

Version 3.6 continues the Rover's journey through Mengzhou with two new main story chapters. Chapter IV Act III, "Song of the Heart Sword," is the primary story quest and prominently features Qingxiao. Chapter IV Segue, "The Nethermancer's Requiem," extends the Chapter IV narrative beyond Qingxiao's individual arc. Both chapters become available when the update goes live on August 20.

The update introduces Ren Realm, a brand-new explorable area. On the traversal side, Sword Flight is added as a new movement option, and players can also perform Guqin instrument sessions in the open world. Three new enemies arrive alongside the new content: Calamity Effigy, Skywatch Lancer, and Jade Nether Serpent.

The Echo roster expands with the new Calamity Effigy Echo and the Phantom Echo "Phantom – Myriad Snare: Rustfire Chassis." A new Tactical Hologram challenge, "Myriad Snare: Rustfire Chassis," is also available for players seeking high-difficulty combat content.

Version 3.6 includes six limited-time events running at various points throughout the patch window, which closes on September 30, 2026:

• If Dreams Still Reverberate — a featured co-op combat event
• Second Coming of Solaris: Coded Deception — a leisure event
• The Strings Remember
• Wuthering Exploration: Fogveil Pagoda — a featured exploration event
• Gifts of Drifting Mist — a seven-day login event

Version 3.6 includes a broad set of improvements that apply across all supported platforms. Echo management receives more precise equipment recommendations, equipment previews, and improved build suggestions based on the player's selected plans. The in-game mailbox capacity increases to 200 messages, attachment limits go up, and a new Mail Collection feature prevents important messages from being cleared during bulk deletion.

The Expedition Motorbike gains themed interface backgrounds unlocked through Main Quest progression, and the sharing system is expanded so 5-Star Convene pulls, Gallery content, and challenge completions are easier to share.

On PC, Wuthering Waves adds NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Frame Generation support, which raises frame rates while reducing visual artefacts and ghosting. Kuro Games is also switching the game's underlying programming language to improve performance across all platforms.
