Zenless Zone Zero

Zenless Zone Zero is HoYoverse’s free-to-play urban-fantasy action RPG, where a Proxy guides three-Agent squads through Hollows using dodges, parries, Stun, and Chain Attacks. It launched on July 4, 2024 and supports PC, Android, iOS/iPadOS, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Version 3.0 remains the live build, while Version 3.1 “The Long Goodbye” launches July 29, 2026 after its July 17 Special Program.

Latest update

Version 3.0, “A Sleepwalker’s Confession,” remains live through July 29 at 06:00 UTC+8. Phase II runs through July 28 with Norma and Sunna featured in the current channels.

Version 3.1, “The Long Goodbye,” launches July 29 after the July 17 Special Program. The update adds first-generation Void Hunter Remielle Dan, Sigrid de L’Azur, a permanent labyrinth mode, a Microsoft Store PC release, and anniversary rewards including one selectable limited S-Rank Agent with its corresponding exclusive W-Engine, 1,600 Polychromes, and 20 Encrypted Master Tapes.

Release date and status

Zenless Zone Zero launched on PC, Android, iOS/iPadOS, and PlayStation 5 on July 4, 2024. Xbox Series X|S support followed on June 6, 2025, and the Windows release expanded to Steam on June 16, 2026. The game remains a free-to-play live-service action RPG.

The current platform set is Windows PC, Android, iOS/iPadOS, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Windows distribution includes HoYoverse’s launcher, Epic Games Store, and Steam, while mobile and console versions use their respective storefronts.

Gameplay overview

Combat uses squads of up to three Agents. Players combine Basic and Special Attacks, dodge or parry enemy strikes, build Daze to Stun targets, and trigger Chain Attacks when openings appear. Agent attributes and roles, W-Engines, Drive Discs, Bangboo support, and team synergies shape each squad’s rotation.

Exploration and commission content move between New Eridu’s districts and Hollow combat zones, with story missions, side commissions, combat challenges, events, and character progression supporting the live-service structure.

Story, setting, or main mode

The player controls a Proxy who guides Agents through dimensional Hollows around New Eridu, the last major city to survive the Hollow disaster. The story follows factions, corporations, investigators, and residents connected to the city’s hidden conflicts while the Proxy balances dangerous commissions with daily life.

Zenless Zone Zero is free to download on Windows PC, Android, iOS/iPadOS, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Optional purchases include Monochrome, memberships, battle passes, and other account items.

System / Device Requirements

HoYoverse’s current support guidance lists a Windows minimum of a 7th-generation Core i5 or AMD equivalent, 8 GB RAM, GeForce GTX 970-class graphics, DirectX 11.1, and Windows 10 64-bit. Epic Games Store lists a recommended 10th-generation Core i7 with 8 GB RAM and GeForce GTX 1660. Current installation guidance requires about 61 GB for the installed PC game plus another 61 GB during decompression.

Mobile support begins with iPhone XS, an A12 iPad with 4 GB RAM, or Android hardware using Snapdragon 855, Dimensity 1200, or Kirin 990 with 8 GB RAM. HoYoverse currently lists 27 GB available space for iOS/iPadOS and 21 GB for Android. The published Apple recommendation is iPhone 11 Pro or an A13 iPad, while HoYoverse’s launch guidance recommends Snapdragon 888-class Android hardware.
