How to Redeem Zenless Zone Zero Codes In-Game & on HoYoverse
Zenless Zone Zero has two official redemption routes: HoYoverse's web page and the in-game menu. The in-game option is locked until the Prologue mission “Business x Strangeness x Justness” is complete, while the website works from the start. Rewards arrive in the in-game mailbox rather than appearing silently in the inventory.
Finish Business x Strangeness x Justness first
A new ZZZ account may be able to open the game but still be too early in progression to use the in-game redemption option. HoYoverse ties the unlock to completion of “Business x Strangeness x Justness,” so finish that Prologue mission before treating a missing menu item as an error. Web redemption remains a separate route and requires the correct HoYoverse login and created in-game character.
Before entering a code, decide which route you are using and stay on that route until submission is confirmed. Mixing instructions from the website and the in-game menu is a common source of confusion because the account checks and interface steps are different even though both ultimately deliver rewards through the mailbox.
Redeem in game or on the HoYoverse page
In-game route: after the required Prologue mission, open the main Menu, choose More, open Redemption Code, enter the code, and confirm. The progression gate matters; if the option is missing before that mission is complete, advancing the Prologue is the correct fix rather than repeatedly restarting the client.
Website route: open HoYoverse's official ZZZ redemption page, sign in to the account linked to the intended character, submit the code, then return to the game and check mail. For players managing more than one HoYoverse account, verify the login before submission instead of assuming the browser is using the same account as the game client.
Rewards arrive in the in-game mailbox
Accepted rewards arrive through the in-game mailbox. That means a code can be successfully redeemed on the website without immediately changing the currency or item count visible in a browser. Open the game, select the intended character, and use the mailbox as the delivery check.
When redeeming several codes, confirm each one separately. A mixed result is normal: one code can work while another is expired or already used. Keeping the results separate prevents a single invalid code from being misdiagnosed as a failure of the entire redemption system.
One route is progression-gated, the other account-gated
The in-game method is progression-gated by the named Prologue mission. The website method is account-gated by the HoYoverse login and character link. Those are different limitations, so troubleshooting should begin with the method actually being used.
A code can also be invalid, expired, or already consumed. HoYoverse has a dedicated error article for these cases. Do not change account bindings or create a new character merely because one promotional code fails; first determine whether the code itself is still eligible.
If the option is missing or the code is refused
Missing in-game option: verify completion of “Business x Strangeness x Justness.” Website rejection: verify the signed-in HoYoverse Account and re-enter the exact code. Accepted code but no items visible: check the in-game mailbox on the intended character rather than only the inventory or currency screen.
For an “invalid” or “already used” message, test the code status before repeating the same submission across devices. Switching from web to in-game redemption does not revive an expired code or make a previously consumed code reusable.
