The update also expands the Lock-on Camera Rotation setting into three options and lets players equip horse gear directly at stables. Pearl Abyss followed with two hotfixes, version 1.18.01 on August 16 and version 1.18.02 on August 17, addressing a comrade count display error and a bug that could reset a player's Silver after completing the quest "A Secret Deal."

What Patch 1.18.00 Changes

Crimson Desert's Patch 1.18.00 went live on August 15, 2026. Pearl Abyss describes it as a quality of life update rather than a content expansion, focused on making existing systems easier to navigate and use.

A New Way to Track Quest Knowledge

The update adds Quests as a new category inside the game's Knowledge menu, found under Main Menu, Journal, and Knowledge. It splits into eight subcategories:

  • Main Quests
  • Faction Quests
  • Investigation Quests
  • Research Quests
  • Daily Life Quests
  • Guide
  • Archive Records
  • Constellations

These are not new quests. The category is a navigation tool that shows players what knowledge they have collected and what they are missing. Entries for quests a player has already completed are granted retroactively, so returning players do not have to redo content to fill in the new tracker.

Research Now Costs Camp Funds

Research previously cost Silver, which competed with other uses for the currency, such as trading and banking. Patch 1.18.00 changes the resource required for research to camp funds instead, a currency tied to managing the Greymane Camp.

Camera and Control Adjustments

The Lock-on Camera Rotation option under Input in the settings menu now has three modes instead of two. Manual lets players freely rotate the camera while locked on, matching the previous "enabled" setting. Auto keeps the camera fixed on the target with no player rotation, matching the previous "disabled" setting. Semi-auto is new: it allows limited camera rotation while locked on, without letting the target move out of view.

Players can now also equip and swap a horse's gear directly from the stable UI, rather than needing to manage it elsewhere.

Other Fixes in Patch 1.18.00

The patch also fixes an issue where high value trade goods could be stacked and loaded in quantities of up to 100, corrects cases where merchants did not appear at trading stalls, and resolves a bug where the pensive statue at Jijeong Temple could revert to its unrepaired state during a related quest. The Chapter 4 kiln repair quest at the Kilnden Workshop can now be completed using the Force Current upgrade to reattach broken pieces.

Hotfixes 1.18.01 and 1.18.02

Pearl Abyss released Hotfix 1.18.01 on August 16, 2026, fixing a delay in opening the interaction menu when speaking to an NPC while carrying a lit lantern, housing items placed in version 1.12.00 or earlier not displaying, the game unexpectedly closing after launch in some cases, and certain areas showing incorrectly on the map.

A second hotfix, version 1.18.02, followed on August 17, 2026.

Note: Hotfix 1.18.02 fixes a bug that could reset a player's Silver after completing the quest "A Secret Deal" in certain save files. It also corrects the camp resources UI showing a comrade count of zero, stuttering movement animations, and the character becoming unresponsive after using a shop in some situations.
