Wuthering Waves

Wuthering Waves is KURO GAMES’ free-to-play open-world action RPG set on Solaris-3, where the amnesiac Rover builds teams of Resonators for fast combat built around dodges, counters, character switching, Forte mechanics, and Echo Skills. Version 3.5 “Blade of Past Resounds, Lingering Dream Hymns” launched on July 10, 2026 with Yangyang: Xuanling, Suisui, Electro Rover, Mengzhou, and new story content. Xbox Series X|S is now part of the live platform set.

Version 3.5, “Blade of Past Resounds, Lingering Dream Hymns,” launched on July 10, 2026. It adds Yangyang: Xuanling as a 5-star Havoc Sword Resonator, Suisui as a 5-star Glacio Rectifier Resonator, the Electro attribute for Rover, the 5-star weapons Azure Oath and Firstlight’s Herald, and new story progression in Mengzhou within the Land of Xuanfang.

The update also adds Chapter IV Act II “Xuanling Sings, Storm Quelled,” new Echoes and Sonata Effects, events, outfits, accessories, an Expedition Motorbike chassis, and another Tactical Hologram challenge. Version 3.5.1 followed with crash fixes.

Release date and status

Wuthering Waves launched globally on May 23, 2024. The free-to-play action RPG later expanded to PlayStation 5, Steam, compatible Apple-silicon Macs, and Xbox Series X|S while retaining its live-service account progression.

Platforms and availability

The game is available on Windows PC, compatible Apple-silicon Macs, Android, iPhone and iPad, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Windows distribution includes KURO GAMES’ client and Steam. The Xbox version launched on July 10, 2026 with Xbox Play Anywhere support.

Gameplay overview

Players form teams of Resonators and switch characters during fast real-time combat. Dodges can trigger Dodge Counters, Resonance Skills and Liberations define each character’s kit, and Intro and Outro Skills activate through Concerto Energy and character swapping.

Defeated Tacet Discords can be absorbed as Echoes, which provide stats, Sonata Effects, and active Echo Skills. Open-world traversal includes sprinting and wall parkour without normal stamina limits, climbing, grappling, gliding, Flight in supported regions, and the Expedition Motorbike.

Story, setting, or main mode

Rover awakens on Solaris-3 after the Lament with missing memories and unusual powers. The main story follows Rover and a growing cast of Resonators across regions and factions while they investigate Tacet Discords, the world’s disasters, and Rover’s past. Version 3.5 continues that journey in Mengzhou and the Land of Xuanfang.

The recommended tier uses a 9th-generation Core i7 or Ryzen 3700, 32 GB RAM, and RTX 2060, RX 5700 XT, or Arc A750 graphics with an SSD.

KURO GAMES publishes separate Android, iPhone, iPad, and Mac tiers. Android starts at Android 7.0, Snapdragon 835 or MediaTek G71/G72-class hardware, and 4 GB RAM. iPhone support starts at iPhone 11 on iOS 14 with 4 GB RAM; iPad support starts at an A13-class model with 4 GB RAM. Mac support starts at macOS 12, Apple M1, and 16 GB RAM.
