PUBG Mobile

PUBG Mobile is a free-to-play battle royale shooter for Android and iOS/iPadOS, where up to 100 players loot weapons, use vehicles, survive a shrinking play zone, and fight to become the last player or squad standing. It launched internationally on March 19, 2018, and Version 4.5 is the current live update, combining Naruto-themed content with Spider-Man: Brand New Day activities scheduled for July 30, 2026.

Latest update

Version 4.5 began rolling out on July 8, 2026 and reached full availability on July 9 without scheduled service interruption. The Naruto-themed release adds themed battle content, events, combat changes, and seasonal activities. The current App Store notes also schedule Spider-Man: Brand New Day content for July 30.

The July 10–12 login-and-match window for the permanent Naruto Outfit Set has ended; it is retained as Version 4.5 history rather than presented as an active reward.

Release date and status

PUBG Mobile launched internationally on March 19, 2018 and remains an actively updated free-to-play battle royale shooter. Its live-service schedule adds themed modes, maps, weapons, vehicles, collaborations, ranked seasons, creator tools, and limited-time rewards.

Platforms and availability

The international version is available on Android and iOS/iPadOS. Google Play and the App Store distribute the main client, and both versions download additional maps, modes, language files, and resource packs after the initial installation.

Gameplay overview

Classic battle royale matches place up to 100 players on a large map where they parachute in, loot weapons and equipment, use vehicles, move with a shrinking safe zone, and try to become the last player or squad alive. Solo, duo, and four-player squad formats sit alongside Payload, fast 4v4 Arena battles, Infection Mode, themed modes, and player-created World of Wonder experiences.

Matches use customizable touch controls, training options, team voice chat, weapon attachments, healing items, and map-specific movement and vehicle systems.

Story, setting, or main mode

PUBG Mobile is structured around competitive matches rather than a fixed story campaign. Each round creates its own survival sequence through the drop location, loot path, rotations, firefights, revives, zone pressure, and final-circle battle.

Developer and publisher

PUBG Mobile is developed through LIGHTSPEED STUDIOS and KRAFTON, with Level Infinite publishing the international service. Tencent Mobile International Limited is listed as the App Store seller.

Download and availability

PUBG Mobile is free to download on Google Play and the App Store with optional in-app purchases. The Apple listing shows a 4 GB initial package, but players should reserve additional storage for downloadable maps, modes, language files, resources, and later updates.

System / Device Requirements

The App Store publishes two requirements that must both be satisfied: an Apple A8-class or newer device from its supported list and iOS or iPadOS 13.0 or later. Because iPhone 6 cannot run iOS 13, the practical iPhone installation floor is iPhone 6s or newer. The iPad list begins with iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 4 and includes all iPad Pro models. The initial App Store package is 4 GB, with additional in-game downloads.

PUBG Mobile publishes an Android recommendation of Android 5.1.1 or later, at least 2 GB RAM, and a stable internet connection. Google Play does not publish a separate universal processor or higher recommended hardware tier, so no chipset value is invented here.
