Outside combat, the player travels by gauntlet runner, explores towns and dungeons, completes quests, strengthens follower bonds, raises virtues, and decides how to spend limited calendar time.
The story follows an elda protagonist and the fairy Gallica across the United Kingdom of Euchronia after the king's assassination triggers the Royal Tournament.
