Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a single-player turn-based RPG with real-time defensive and offensive inputs woven into every battle. The story follows Gustave, Maelle, Lune, Sciel, Monoco, Verso, and their allies as Expedition 33 leaves Lumière to stop the Paintress, whose yearly Gommage erases people at a steadily decreasing age. Players explore surreal areas across the Continent, build each character through weapons, attributes, skills, Pictos, and Lumina, and react to enemy attacks with dodges, parries, jumps, and counters. Free Aim lets the party target weak points, while optional routes, bosses, camps, and special companions expand exploration beyond the main path.

Gameplay and setting
The game follows Expedition 33 as its members leave Lumière to stop the Paintress and end the Gommage. Battles use Sandfall Interactive's Reactive Turn-Based system: players select actions during their own turns, then perform timed inputs to strengthen attacks and react in real time when enemies strike. Dodges provide a more generous defensive window, while successful parries can lead to powerful counters. Free Aim can target weak points, and each playable character has a distinct combat mechanic. Progression combines attributes, skill trees, weapons, Pictos, and learnable Lumina passives. Outside battle, players explore structured areas and a World Map, discover optional encounters and secrets, use special companions for new travel methods, and return to camps to manage builds and relationships.
