GIRLS' FRONTLINE 2: EXILIUM
GIRLS' FRONTLINE 2: EXILIUM is a free-to-play turn-based tactical strategy RPG developed by MICA Team (Sunborn Network Technology) and published globally by Darkwinter Software and HaoPlay. Players take on the role of the Commander, a former military contractor turned bounty hunter who leads a squad of Tactical Dolls across radiation-contaminated wastelands aboard a mobile base vehicle known as the Elmo. The main progression loop centers on recruiting and upgrading T-Dolls through the gacha system, advancing a story-driven campaign, and mastering grid-based tactical combat across increasingly challenging missions and endgame modes. Its defining gameplay hook is a cover-driven, XCOM-inspired tactical system layered with stability mechanics, elemental tile effects, and deep unit customization through neural helixes, weapon attachments, and skill keys.

Platforms and availability
The game is available on PC and mobile (Android and iOS / iPadOS). On PC, players can download the Sunborn/Darkwinter standalone client from the official site at gf2exilium.sunborngame.com or through Steam (app ID 3347400 for Darkwinter, 3308670 for HaoPlay). On mobile, both publisher versions are distributed through the App Store and Google Play, with separate listings by publisher. The game is region-gated at the download level: players in HaoPlay territories cannot access the Darkwinter Steam listing and vice versa. The two versions run on entirely separate servers, share no account progress, and issue promotional codes independently, so players should confirm which publisher covers their region before starting.
Gameplay and setting
GIRLS' FRONTLINE 2: EXILIUM uses a turn-based tactical combat system on 3D grid maps inspired by XCOM-style gameplay, where the player commands a squad of up to four T-Dolls through missions with objectives including enemy elimination, point capture, and survival. Cover positions reduce incoming damage and can be broken through flanking, elevated tiles, area-of-effect skills, or by depleting a unit's stability index to trigger a Stability Break. Each T-Doll has a class (Sentinel, Support, Guard, or Medic), active skills that cost confectance index, a rechargeable ultimate, and passive abilities. Starting from the Chiral Redundancy update, elemental tile interactions can be combined to create stacking status effects across grid areas.
T-Doll progression runs through training levels, weapon and attachment loadouts, neural helix node unlocks, duplicate fortification, and equippable keys that modify skills and stats. Standard rarity Dolls can be upgraded to Elite rarity after collecting required materials, unlocking new skills. Outside the main campaign, permanent modes include Boundary Push (real-time dungeon exploration with stealth and one-shot assassination mechanics), Artifact Recovery (roguelike runs with randomized Doll and modifier pools), Dual Randomizer, and Divergent Echoes. The Crew Deck, added during the Deep Oblivion update, provides an explorable base with cooking minigames, furniture placement, and ASMR content.
The game is set in 2074, ten years after the final chapter of Girls' Frontline. The Griffin and Kryuger PMC has dissolved, and the Commander, now a bounty hunter exiled to contaminated wastelands, travels in a Mobile Base Vehicle called the Elmo with a small crew of T-Dolls. A cargo delivery mission gone wrong draws the Commander into a larger conflict involving the Paradeus cult, human experimentation subjects immune to Collapse radiation, and the political maneuverings of the URNC and NOMFA. T-Dolls throughout the world have begun adopting new personal names as their individual identities evolve beyond their original firearm designations.
