Honkai: Nexus Anima is a creature-collector adventure strategy game in which players travel between different worlds and form bonds with mysterious creatures called Anima. You play a plane-hopping traveler who has escaped captivity and begins a new journey while searching for answers about their own past. Exploration centers on meeting, collecting, training, and developing Anima, while battles incorporate auto-chess mechanics that emphasize building and arranging a capable team. The developers are also building a lively seaside town where humans and Anima coexist, giving the creatures roles beyond combat as players explore, meet characters, and discover more of the surrounding world.

The newest verified public pre-release milestone for Honkai: Nexus Anima is its gamescom 2026 playable demo. HoYoverse announced the demo for its Hall 6.1 exhibition, giving attendees another hands-on look at the game after the Evolution Test concluded on July 27, 2026. The project remains in development, and no Global release date or launch window has been announced.

Platforms and availability
Honkai: Nexus Anima is in development for PC and mobile devices, with PC, Android, and iOS used across its recent Global development and testing program. The Evolution Test supported all three platforms and synchronized test progress between eligible devices using the same HoYoverse Account. Final launch storefronts and downloadable release clients have not yet been announced.
Gameplay and setting
Honkai: Nexus Anima revolves around collecting and training creatures called Anima, forming bonds with them during exploration, and assembling teams for strategic battles. The developers describe the combat direction as using auto-chess mechanics, shifting attention toward team composition and how Anima work together rather than direct action control of every attack. Anima can develop new forms through evolution, while rare Chromatic Anima provide distinctive variants to discover.
The player is a plane-hopping traveler who has escaped captivity and begins exploring from Iia while searching for the truth about their past. The wider setting contains different Planes connected through the concept of the Nexus, while Iia is being developed as a seaside community where humans and Anima live alongside one another. Characters such as Nanafey, Bai Mei, and Olympia appear during the journey as the traveler encounters different groups and investigates the world's unresolved mysteries.

The final release is not yet available for general download. Global pre-registration is available through the official Honkai: Nexus Anima website. Clients distributed for previous closed tests were temporary test builds and are not final release acquisition routes.
