HoYoverse's Evolution Test concluded on July 27, 2026 after running for 19 days on PC, iOS and Android with all test data scheduled for deletion.

The build expanded Iia, added Anima evolution and Chromatic Anima encounters, and introduced characters including Nanafey, Bai Mei and Olympia while commercial pre-registration remained open.

Release date and status

Honkai: Nexus Anima is upcoming, and HoYoverse has not announced a commercial release date. The July 2026 Evolution Test is complete, while the official site continues to accept pre-registrations.

HoYoverse has tested Honkai: Nexus Anima on Windows PC, Android, iPhone and iPad. No PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo version has been announced, and public store downloads are not available before launch.

Gameplay overview

Players collect and train Anima, explore Iia and other Planes, use companion abilities for traversal and challenges, and assemble teams for Nexus Battles. Combat follows an auto-battler structure shaped by each Anima's Aspect, Trait and ability combinations.

The Evolution Test adds companion evolution, personal names, first-meeting photos and rare Chromatic Anima, while the overworld supports character customization, riding, carrying and interacting with Anima.

Story, setting, or main mode

The story follows a plane-hopping traveler who escapes captivity and begins in Iia, a town in the Reality Plane. The Sundering shattered the bonds between paired Aspects, leaving their remnant power in Anima and dividing the old world into separate Planes.

Nexus Hall, the True Nexus Building and Iia's New Quarter introduce competing factions and characters such as Nanafey, Bai Mei and Olympia as the traveler investigates a buried past.
