Forza Horizon 6
Forza Horizon 6 is an open-world racing game that brings the Horizon Festival to a condensed version of Japan filled with city streets, mountain roads, rural landscapes, and changing seasons. You begin as a tourist and earn your place in the Festival by racing, exploring, collecting discoveries, and progressing through Wristbands until you can become a Horizon Legend. More than 550 real-world cars can be driven and customized across road, dirt, cross-country, street, touge, drift, drag, and time-attack activities. The world can be explored alone or with other players through shared meetups, cooperative events, competitive modes, and player-created experiences.

Latest update
The latest major Forza Horizon 6 update is British Automotive, released on September 7, 2026. It adds Drift Attack as a permanent Shared World activity at Shimanoyama Circuit, where drivers repeatedly lap a dedicated drift course, score points through drifts and clipping zones, and compete through in-world and Convoy leaderboards. Drift Attack becomes available after earning the Yellow Wristband, and its Collection Journal goals can unlock the 1990 Jaguar XJ-S Forza Edition.
The update also added the stock Jaguar XJ-S permanently to the Autoshow and prepared new Festival Playlist and Car Pass vehicles. Gameplay improvements include a separate audio-language setting, fixes for misplaced wheels and missing player character models at lower PC graphical settings, and improved car rendering quality when using the High PC preset.

The PC edition is available through Microsoft's Xbox ecosystem and Steam, while the Xbox version supports Xbox Play Anywhere. The Standard Edition is also included with eligible Game Pass subscriptions, and Xbox Cloud Gaming provides a supported streaming route.

Gameplay and setting
Forza Horizon 6 takes the Horizon Festival to an open-world interpretation of Japan. The map combines dense urban driving in Tokyo City with rural areas, mountain roads, alpine terrain, coastal scenery, industrial districts, and routes inspired by locations such as the C1 loop, Mt. Haruna, and Bandai Azuma. Tokyo City is the largest urban area created for a Forza Horizon game, while seasonal changes alter the landscape and driving conditions across the wider map.
The campaign begins with the player arriving as a tourist rather than an established Festival star. Completing Horizon Qualifiers earns entry into the Festival, after which races and special Wristband Events unlock progressively faster vehicle classes. Seven Festival Wristbands lead toward the Gold Wristband and Horizon Legend status, which opens Legend Island and its additional events. A parallel Discover Japan path records exploration, cars, landmarks, activities, and other discoveries in the Collection Journal and awards Stamps as progress is made.
More than 550 real-world cars were available at launch. Cars can be bought, tuned, painted, fitted with body kits and updated Forza Aero components, and customized with liveries that can extend onto windows. Exploration can also uncover discounted Aftermarket Cars, clue-based Treasure Cars, returning Barn Finds, and heavily modified Forza Edition vehicles.
Driving activities include road, dirt, cross-country, street, and touge racing alongside Showcase Events, Horizon Rush obstacle courses, PR Stunts, Time Attack, drag racing, drifting, and Rivals-style competition. Online play expands this with Convoys, LINK Skills, Car Meets, Spec Racing, The Eliminator, Hide & Seek, Touge Showdown, and other Horizon Play activities. EventLab and Horizon CoLab let players create events and build collaboratively in the open world, while Player Houses, Customizable Garages, and the Estate provide additional spaces for displaying cars and creating custom environments.
