Forza Horizon 6
Forza Horizon 6 is a premium open-world racing game developed by Playground Games and published by Xbox Game Studios. Players begin as tourists in Japan and work toward joining the Horizon Festival as rookie drivers. Their goal is to discover the country, fill the Collection Journal, earn increasingly prestigious Wristbands, and ultimately become a Horizon Legend. Its defining gameplay system combines unrestricted open-world driving with road racing, Touge Battles, Time Attack Circuits, drifting, car collecting, customization, and seamless multiplayer activities.

Latest update
Horizon Mascot Party is the current Forza Horizon 6 series update. It began rolling out on August 10, 2026 as version 3.419.635.0 for Xbox Series X/S and the Xbox app on Windows, with Steam using version 1.419.635.0. The update adds the temporary Edamame Time Attack Circuit, 47 new EventLab props, additional Festival Playlist reward cars, and American and British Sign Language support for cinematics. The Horizon Mascot Party Festival Playlist runs from August 13 through September 10.
Release date and status
Forza Horizon 6 launched worldwide for Xbox Series X/S and PC on May 19, 2026, following Premium Edition Early Access from May 15. A PlayStation 5 version remains scheduled for later in 2026, but its release date has not been announced, so PlayStation 5 is not part of the currently released platform list.

Platforms and availability
The released version covers Xbox Series X/S and Windows PC. PC players can purchase the game through Steam or Microsoft's Xbox ecosystem, while Xbox Series X/S players use Xbox Store. The Standard Edition is also included with Game Pass Ultimate on Xbox Series X/S and PC Game Pass on Windows. Cross-save is supported across the game's available platforms and supported PC handheld devices.
Gameplay and setting
Forza Horizon 6 takes the Horizon Festival to Japan with more than 550 real-world cars and an open world spanning dense urban areas, rural landscapes, mountain passes, year-round alpine snow, and Tokyo City. Players begin as tourists, qualify through the Horizon Invitational, earn increasingly prestigious Wristbands, complete the Collection Journal, and work toward Horizon Legend status and access to Legend Island. Activities include road and off-road racing, Touge Battles, Time Attack Circuits, Drag Meets, Horizon Drift, Car Meets, Spec Racing, The Eliminator, Hide & Seek, and cooperative multiplayer. Exploration also introduces Aftermarket Cars, Treasure Cars, Barn Finds, homes with Customizable Garages, the buildable Estate, and EventLab with Horizon CoLab multiplayer creation.
