British Automotive Adds a Permanent Drift Mode

The British Automotive update became available on September 7, with its four-week Festival Playlist beginning on September 10. The largest permanent gameplay addition is Drift Attack, a new Shared World activity built around scoring a single drifting lap at Shimanoyama Circuit.

Drift Attack Starts Directly from the Open World

Drift Attack is located at Shimanoyama Circuit. After unlocking the Yellow Wristband, you can drive through the Drift Attack gantry directly from the open world and begin a run without entering a separate loading sequence.

The objective is to score as many drift points as possible in one lap. You can keep completing laps without a fixed attempt limit, but the leaderboard records your strongest single-lap score rather than combining every lap into one total.

Drift Attack ruleHow it works
EntryDrive through the activity gantry at Shimanoyama Circuit.
GoalSet the highest drift score possible during one lap.
AttemptsContinue driving additional laps to improve your score.
Clipping ZonesDrifting inside marked zones increases points.
LeaderboardsCompare scores in the world and through Convoy leaderboards.

Leaderboard information also records drivetrain data, allowing players to compare scores with more information about how each car was configured.

The Collection Journal Adds Drift Rewards

Drift Attack has its own Collection Journal progression. Completing the applicable objectives unlocks cosmetic rewards and a special Jaguar.

  • Drift Attack Racesuit.
  • Drift Attack Helmet.
  • 1990 Jaguar XJ-S Forza Edition.

The standard 1990 Jaguar XJ-S is also permanently added to the Autoshow, so the British Automotive update expands the normal car catalog as well as the Drift Attack reward path.

Three New Cars Headline the Festival Playlist

The British Automotive Festival Playlist contains 10 Series Reward cars, with three models making their first appearance in Horizon.

New-to-Horizon Series RewardModel year
Bentley Continental GT Speed2025
Ginetta G40 Junior2019
Vauxhall Astra VXR2006

The 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed is also the British Automotive Series Reward and remains available through the September 10 to October 8 series window.

The Aftermarket Gets a British Automotive Takeover

The Aftermarket dealership near Horizon Stadium receives a British Automotive Takeover. The refreshed selection includes cars that normally appear through Wheelspins, such as the 2019 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera and 1961 Jaguar E-type.

The dealership also lets players test drive the current 20-point Festival Playlist reward car each week, giving the takeover a direct connection with the changing weekly Playlist lineup.

Four Car Pass Vehicles Arrive Weekly

The Car Pass adds another four vehicles that are new to Horizon. One car releases each week during British Automotive.

DateCar Pass vehicle
September 102025 McLaren W1
September 172023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170
September 241998 Renault Sport Spider
October 11987 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Luftauto 002

Car Pass is included with the Deluxe Edition, Premium Edition and Premium Upgrade. Players using the Standard Edition or Game Pass can purchase the Car Pass separately.

The September Update Targets Xbox and PC

The September 7 British Automotive update is available through Xbox Series X/S, the Xbox app on PC and Steam. Playground Games lists the download time as 17:00 UTC on September 7.

The Festival Playlist itself does not begin until September 10 at 14:30 UTC. This separates the game update from the start of the four-week British Automotive progression window.

Note: Drift Attack remains in Forza Horizon 6 after British Automotive ends. The October 8 date applies to the Festival Playlist and its rotating Series content, not to the permanent Drift Attack activity.
