FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH is Square Enix’s action RPG and the second standalone title in the FINAL FANTASY VII remake project. It follows Cloud Strife and his companions after leaving Midgar, expanding the journey into large regions filled with story missions, side quests, minigames, exploration, and optional combat. Gameplay overview
Combat blends direct real-time action with command-based strategy. Players switch between party members, use ATB abilities, magic, weapon skills, limits, and coordinated Synergy Skills or Synergy Abilities.
Outside combat, the party explores large regions with towns, side quests, minigames, optional combat encounters, regional objectives, and travel systems that make the journey beyond Midgar much broader than the first Remake title.
Story, setting, or main mode
The story follows Cloud Strife and his companions after leaving Midgar. Their pursuit of Sephiroth takes them across multiple regions, introducing allies, rival forces, and locations from the original FINAL FANTASY VII in a heavily expanded form.
REBIRTH continues through the party’s journey toward the Forgotten Capital while developing Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, Barret, Red XIII, Yuffie, and other major characters.
