Digimon Story Time Stranger

The latest gameplay patch is the July 2026 Free Update, which rolled out between July 8 and July 10, 2026 depending on platform. Its versions are PlayStation 5 01.000.012, Xbox Series X/S 1.13.1.0, Steam build 23514637, and Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 Ver. 1.2.1. The update added Terriermon Assistant as a playable Mode Change, Photo Mode during field exploration, a Digivolution Conditions screen in DigiFarm, graphics-mode options on supported hardware, and multiple fixes.

Bandai Namco later announced Digimon Story Time Stranger: A Hero's Eternal Legacy on September 3, 2026. The expansion is planned for 2027, takes place three years after the main game's climactic battle, and is set to add a new story and more than 50 Digimon.

You play as an agent of ADAMAS investigating an anomaly in Tokyo before a catastrophic event sends the story eight years into the past. Exploration moves between the human world and the Digital World: Iliad, with events spanning different times and parallel worlds.

Enemy Digimon can be scanned during encounters, and reaching a sufficient scan rate lets you Convert their data into Digimon that can join your collection. Battles are turn-based and revolve around building a party whose attributes, elements, skills, and roles work well together. The player can also assist through Cross Arts. Outside combat, Digimon can be trained in DigiFarm, equipped with Attachment Skills and equipment, strengthened through their bond with the agent, and developed through Digivolution. Agent Skills are unlocked with Anomaly Points earned through missions and provide additional ways to improve a team.
