Digimon Story Time Stranger is a premium monster-taming RPG developed by Media.Vision Inc. and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. Players assume the role of a secret organization agent who encounters an unknown creature before a city-leveling explosion and reawakens eight years in the past. Latest update
The July 2026 free update is the latest major patch across all platforms. It added Terriermon Assistant as a playable character through Mode Change from Terriermon. A new Photo Mode was added during field exploration, and players can now check Digivolution Conditions directly in the Digifarm. The Nintendo Switch 2 version received a Graphics Mode selection option with Quality Mode (4K HDR, up to 30 FPS) and Performance Mode (Full HD, up to 60 FPS). The patch also fixed Digifarm training issues at maximum playtime and progression problems in the Main Mission The God of Speed's Wish. Notably, the Steam version removed Denuvo DRM with this update.

Digimon Story Time Stranger launched on October 3, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (Steam). It released in Japan one day earlier on October 2, 2025. The Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions followed on July 10, 2026. The game is the seventh entry in the Digimon Story subseries and the first since Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory in 2017. It is the first Digimon Story game to feature an English dub and translations into 11 languages.

The game is available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. The Nintendo Switch 2 version offers two graphics modes: Quality Mode with 4K HDR at up to 30 FPS docked (1080p handheld), and Performance Mode at Full HD up to 60 FPS. The physical Nintendo Switch version can be patched to function as the Switch 2 version. Editions include Standard, Deluxe, Ultimate, and a physical Collector's Edition with a Jupitermon: Wrath Mode figurine. The Season Pass contains three Additional Digimon & Episode Packs, with all DLC distributed by September 30, 2026.
Gameplay and setting
Set in Tokyo and the Digital World: Iliad, players control a secret organization agent who reawakens eight years in the past after a catastrophic explosion. The narrative explores the bond between humans and Digimon across time and parallel worlds. Combat uses strategic turn-based battles with evolved battle components and deep customization. Over 450 Digimon can be collected, raised, and digivolved through multiple paths. The DigiRide system lets players ride their Digimon to traverse environments faster. The Digifarm allows training and managing Digimon, while the Field Guide tracks discovered species with stats, animations, and pixel models. Character designs are by Suzuhito Yasuda and Oh!Great, with music by Masafumi Takada.
