Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 — password gift
- Progress until Link Play and Mystery Gift are unlocked.
- Open Link Play and choose Mystery Gift.
- Select Get with Code/Password.
- Enter PREPAR1NG and confirm.
- Wait for the gift to arrive and allow the game to save.
Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 — Internet gift
- Open Link Play and choose Mystery Gift.
- Select Get via Internet.
- Choose the available distribution.
- Confirm the gift and allow the game to save.
Code limits and expiry
Mystery Gifts require an internet connection, a Nintendo Account, and enough progress to unlock Link Play. Password gifts and Get via Internet distributions use different claim methods and may have separate story or DLC requirements.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A delivers a Mystery Gift immediately after the password or Internet distribution is confirmed, then saves the game. Check the Bag or relevant storage location for item gifts such as Max Revives, Full Restores, and Ultra Balls.
