A Mystery Gift password can normally be used only once per save data file. Your console must be connected to the internet, and your user profile must be linked to a Nintendo Account. If Link Play is missing, continue Mable's Research until you unlock its Rewards feature.
If a password is rejected, check every character and confirm that the distribution is still valid. Pokémon Legends: Z-A passwords do not use the letters I, O, or Z. You can also open Check Mystery Gifts to see whether the gift was already received on that save data.
