Phantom Blade Zero State of Play Set for August 17
Phantom Blade Zero's dedicated gameplay deep dive State of Play streams on August 17, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. PT / 10:00 p.m. ET, moving to August 18 in Europe and Asia. The presentation will show nearly 20 minutes of new gameplay, including previously unseen characters central to the story and a closer look at individual player builds. Pre-orders are also open on PS5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store ahead of the game's October 29, 2026 launch.

What the Gameplay Deep Dive Will Show
The dedicated State of Play is designed to go further into Phantom Blade Zero than the new extended pre-order trailer.
The presentation will cover several parts of the game:
- New Phantom Blade Zero gameplay.
- The game's combat systems.
- Different ways individual player builds can be configured.
- Previously unseen characters that are central to the story.
- More of the Phantom World and its dark wuxia setting.
The pre-order trailer already shows Soul fighting enemies on top of a speeding wagon and crossing blades with former comrades including The Hunt. The State of Play will expand on the gameplay systems behind those encounters.
Phantom Blade Zero Pre-Orders Are Open
Pre-orders for Phantom Blade Zero are now available on PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
The game is scheduled to launch on October 29, 2026.
Pre-ordering provides early access to two items:
- Treasure Basin accessory.
- Legacy outfit.
Treasure Basin increases the Remnant Dust drop rate by 10 percent. Both pre-order items can also be obtained through in-game progression, so they are early unlocks rather than permanently exclusive content.

Donnie Yen Plays Mó Yuan
The extended pre-order trailer also confirms Donnie Yen's involvement in Phantom Blade Zero.
Yen has served as a creative consultant on the project since 2023. His martial arts and action filmmaking experience has contributed to the game's kung fu style and combat design.
He also serves as the facial and motion capture actor for Mó Yuan. Mó Yuan is Soul's father and the Leader of the Bastion of Mó.

S-GAME describes Phantom Blade Zero as an action RPG set in the Phantom World. Its combat and visual design combine traditional wuxia, fantasy, folk horror, martial arts, mechanical elements, and the studio's Kungfupunk style.
The game follows Soul, a swordsman with sixty-six days left to live after being framed for the murder of his master. The upcoming State of Play will provide the next extended look at his combat options, builds, and characters connected to that story.
