Ultrawide and frame generation arrive in patch 1.0.9

Beast of Reincarnation's third update is now available, with Fictions listing the patch as v1.0.9 / v1.007.000. One of the largest additions is support for most ultrawide and super ultrawide monitors.

The update also introduces DLSS/FSR frame generation options. Players using supported PC hardware can enable frame generation through the game's settings menu.

More events and cutscenes can now be skipped

Patch 1.0.9 expands the game's cutscene skip system. Events and cutscenes that support the feature can now be skipped by holding the interact button, and a skip indicator appears in the bottom-right corner when skipping is available.

Certain cutscenes before the final boss fight are included in this batch. Fictions says technical complications prevented the system from being added to every eligible cutscene at once, so additional scenes will receive skip support through future updates.

Healing and combat have been adjusted

The update changes how healing works during combat. Emma can now use healing items immediately after taking damage, removing the short delay that previously prevented an instant heal. Her movement slowdown while healing has also been shortened.

  • The Helm Splitter skill is now usable by default and can still be upgraded through the skill tree.
  • Counterattack execution timing has been adjusted.
  • Attacks from behind can now damage shield-bearing enemies.
  • The Great Wall Terraces boss encounter has been changed to an event battle.
  • Boss camera presentation has received additional adjustments.
  • Execution Kills and Assassinations now include controller vibration.

Several enemy and progression problems are fixed

Patch 1.0.9 fixes an issue that prevented elite enemies from spawning in the Fuji Frontier Zone. It also corrects a problem that caused elite enemies to recover their full health too quickly after losing sight of Emma.

Koo should obstruct the player's view less often after the update, while the equipment screen now displays which Spirit Stone effects are active. Charms can also be sold, and the Shop quantity selector now includes Set to Max and Reset options.

  • Koo-exclusive item icons now use distinct visuals.
  • Crow-type enemy attacks no longer create acid damage fields.
  • Certain Nushi attacks that previously failed to connect have been fixed.
  • A Spirit Stone re-equipping issue that could unequip stones in other slots has been corrected.
  • Emma's landing position after jumping should no longer become misaligned.

Xbox PC upscaling and PC controls receive fixes

The Microsoft Store/Xbox PC version receives a specific fix for an issue that made upscaling features unavailable after the previous patch. Fictions says those options should now work again.

Several PC input problems are also addressed. The patch fixes keyboard input on the Return Results screen, an alt-tab issue that could block fast travel through the Cleanse Walker menu, unintended Bed Menu actions caused by mouse input and a New Game+ transfer screen soft lock involving keyboard, mouse and controller input.

Performance and presentation work continues

The update optimizes boss attack effects, Bloom Arts command processing and status effect visuals. It also adjusts invisible wall collision, text that appeared incorrectly reduced in size and several event or cutscene presentation issues.

Fictions says more updates are planned. Future work includes a toggle for post-processing effects, additional skippable events and cutscenes, further presentation adjustments, Blade Arts and Bloom Arts balance changes, water submersion detection changes and more invisible wall collision adjustments.
