Save Data Transfer from the Prologue Demo
Version 1.042.00.00 adds save data transfer support, allowing players who completed the free Prologue Demo to carry their progress into the full game. The transfer applies only when no existing save file is present in the full game, meaning it is available to new buyers who played the demo before purchasing Monster Hunter Wilds. The Prologue Demo launched on August 5, 2026, one day after this patch, on PS5, Xbox Series, and Steam.
Note: Save data transfer from the Prologue Demo is only possible if no save file already exists in the full game. Players who have previously saved in the full game cannot use this feature.
Offline Event Quest Access
All 25 available event quests and Challenge Quests now function without an internet connection. Several quests that were previously locked to online-only sessions are now accessible offline, including:
- Special Assignment: Slay Gogmazios
- Freedom from Solitude
- The Dreamer's Stairway
"Just What the Doctor Ordered" has been made permanent and offline-playable. It was previously a limited-time event quest and will no longer cycle out of rotation. The Quest Counter's event quest list was also adjusted so that available quests appear at the top rather than being sorted by date or category.
Bug Fixes
Version 1.042 resolves the following issues:
- Guardian Fulgur Anjanath displayed an unnatural texture on its head
- Arch-tempered Arkveld attack effects appeared displaced from their intended position
- The Synthetic Shield and Synergy enhancement were stacking beyond the intended limit
- Sword and Shield trap placement via the radial menu had an unintended delay after using Focus Mode
- Background music and sound effects failed to play in certain conditions
- Voice lines triggered incorrectly in some situations
- NVIDIA DLSS caused stuttering when a frame rate cap was active; a driver update to GeForce 581.57 or later is recommended
- The Arkveld pendant ornament animation froze under high system load
Download Size
The update is approximately 3.5 GB on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Steam players with the High Resolution Texture Pack installed should download approximately 5.5 GB.
