Genshin Impact on PlayStation 5

Genshin Impact can share the same progress between PlayStation 5, PC, mobile, and other supported platforms through a linked HoYoverse Account. On PS5, use Login with existing account before starting a new profile and make sure the PlayStation Network region matches the server containing your progress.

Use PS5 and confirm the HoYoverse Account that owns your progress

Genshin Impact currently supports cross-save on PlayStation 5 through your HoYoverse Account. PS4 can no longer be used for the current game because HoYoverse ended PS4 update and login support on April 8, 2026.

Before opening the game on PS5, make sure you know the email or username and password for the HoYoverse Account containing the progress you want to keep.

You can also open the official HoYoverse Account Center and review Linked Accounts before continuing. This is especially important if you have previously used the same PlayStation Network account with a HoYoverse game.

Note: Do not continue into a new Genshin Impact profile on PlayStation when your goal is to use existing PC, mobile, Xbox, or other supported cross-save progress.

Your PlayStation Network region must match the Genshin Impact server

Cross-save shares progress only when you enter the same Genshin Impact server that already contains your characters and account data.

On PlayStation, the game server is determined by the region of the PlayStation Network account. Unlike PC and mobile, you cannot simply choose another server at login to correct a PlayStation region mismatch.

Before linking, confirm the server containing your existing progress and make sure the PlayStation Network account corresponds to that server.

HoYoverse does not provide a server-transfer or server-merge service. Progress from separate servers cannot be combined.

The same progress will load on linked supported platforms

Once the correct PlayStation Network account and HoYoverse Account are linked, Genshin Impact can load the same supported account progress on PlayStation, PC, mobile, Xbox, and other supported platforms where that HoYoverse Account can be used.

On PS5, you enter through the linked PlayStation Network account. On platforms that use HoYoverse login directly, sign in with the same HoYoverse Account.

You do not create a second save and manually copy it between systems. Cross-save works by having the supported platforms access the same account data.

If PlayStation opens a new account instead of your existing progress

If you entered Genshin Impact without choosing Login with existing account, the PlayStation Network account may have been linked to a newly created HoYoverse Account instead.

HoYoverse provides a recovery path:

1
Open Genshin Impact with that PlayStation Network account.
2
Go to Settings > Account > User Center.
3
Link an email address and set a password for the newly created HoYoverse Account if it does not already have usable login credentials.
4
On another device, open the HoYoverse Account Center and sign in with that account.
5
Open Linked Accounts.
6
Unlink the PlayStation Network account.
7
Return to Genshin Impact on PS5.
8
Select Login with existing account and sign in to the HoYoverse Account containing your real progress.
Note: HoYoverse states that a PlayStation Network account can only be unlinked once. Check the accounts carefully before using this recovery option.

If the wrong HoYoverse Account is already linked

If you deliberately selected Login with existing account but entered the wrong HoYoverse Account, use the same one-time unlink procedure.

1
Open the official HoYoverse Account Center on another device.
2
Sign in to the HoYoverse Account currently linked to PlayStation.
3
Open Linked Accounts.
4
Unlink the PlayStation Network account.
5
Launch Genshin Impact again on PS5.
6
Select Login with existing account.
7
Sign in with the correct HoYoverse Account.

HoYoverse's official PlayStation unlinking guide explains both the wrong-account case and the automatically created account case.

If your UID or progress is still wrong after linking

  • Confirm that the HoYoverse Account is the one containing your original Genshin Impact progress.
  • Check that the PlayStation Network region corresponds to the correct Genshin Impact server.
  • Compare the UID shown on PlayStation with the UID from your original account.
  • Open Settings > Account > User Center and verify the linked account information.
  • Do not create another profile on a different server expecting the progress to merge later.

If the account is correct but the expected progress still does not load, follow HoYoverse's official missing progress troubleshooting guide and contact HoYoverse support if the problem remains.

Open Genshin Impact on PlayStation, go to Settings > Account > User Center, link an email address and set a password for the automatically created account, then use the HoYoverse Account Center to unlink the PlayStation Network account before linking your original account.
