Tides of Annihilation
Tides of Annihilation is a premium, single-player action-adventure game developed and published by Eclipse Glow Games. Players take on the role of Gwendolyn, the last surviving inhabitant of London after a catastrophic invasion from another realm tears the city apart. Her central goal is to fight through hordes of otherworldly enemies and scale colossal roaming knights while searching for the Holy Grail to save her sister and restore reality itself. The game's defining feature is its knightly combat system, which lets players command a rotating band of over ten summonable spectral knights drawn from Arthurian legend, each contributing unique attacks and abilities that can be combined into cooperative chain offensives.

Latest update
The most recent confirmed milestone for Tides of Annihilation is the Gamescom 2026 announcement, published on July 15, 2026. Eclipse Glow Games confirmed the game's first global public playtest at Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany, running from August 26 to 30, 2026, at Hall 6, booth B-050. A brand-new trailer is scheduled to premiere during Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25, 2026. Before the Gamescom announcement, the studio released a 40-minute gameplay preview ahead of the show floor, revealing key combat systems including the spectral knight dual-fighting system, branching level paths leading to boss encounters with Mordred and Geraint, and confirmation of over 30 unique bosses across the full game. The PC build shown in the preview also demonstrated Path Tracing and NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi-Frame Generation support.
Release date and status
Tides of Annihilation does not have a confirmed release date as of August 2026. Eclipse Glow Games has not announced a launch window, price, editions, or pre-order plan on any official platform. Steam, the Epic Games Store, the Xbox Store, and the PlayStation Store all list the game as coming soon with no date attached. The studio confirmed to media in early 2025 that a 2026 launch was the internal target, but no official public commitment to a year or specific window has been made. Unverified reports from industry sources have pointed to a fall 2026 window, though these remain unconfirmed by the developer. The Gamescom 2026 playtest on August 25 to 30 represents the game's first opportunity for a global player audience to go hands-on ahead of launch.

Platforms and availability
Tides of Annihilation is confirmed for three platform families: PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. On PC it will be available through Steam and the Epic Games Store as separate client options. The Xbox listing is optimized for Xbox Series X/S and is also designated Xbox Play Anywhere, which means a single Xbox digital purchase grants access on both Xbox consoles and Windows PC through the Xbox app. The PlayStation 5 version is listed directly on the PlayStation Store. Eclipse Glow Games has stated that all platforms are intended to launch at the same time, with no staggered release or console-exclusive window announced. No Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, or mobile version has been confirmed. No cloud streaming or subscription inclusion has been announced for any service as of August 2026.
Gameplay and setting
Tides of Annihilation is a third-person, single-player action-adventure built around fast-paced character action combat. The core gameplay loop centers on Gwendolyn fighting through enemy hordes across two interconnected worlds while building and commanding an Order of spectral knights. Players summon and swap between more than ten Arthurian knights during combat, combining their unique elemental and physical abilities into cooperative chain attacks. Fights are designed around rapid switching between Gwendolyn's own weapon-based combat and timed knight interventions, creating high-speed combo sequences the studio describes as a dual-knight fighting system. Outside of standard enemy encounters, the game features over 30 named boss fights, including colossal knights that physically roam the London cityscape. These giant bosses function as vertical level structures: players scale their massive forms, explore chambers inside their armor, and fight them in multiple stages. The game also includes multiple endings, with branching paths confirmed in the Gamescom demo that lead to different boss encounters and exploration routes.
The setting shifts between two worlds. The first is a shattered modern London transformed by the Grey Fog, an Outworld invasion that has warped the city's landmarks, distorted buildings, and replaced its inhabitants with otherworldly enemies. The second is Avalon, the mythical realm of Arthurian legend, which Gwendolyn enters as part of her quest. Gwendolyn is the story's sole playable protagonist, a lone survivor who discovers she can command the legendary Knights of the Round Table as spectral companions. Her goals are intertwined: find the Holy Grail, save her sister, and exact vengeance on the demi-gods of Avalon who triggered the invasion.
Trailer, screenshots, and media
The selected trailer is the "Break the Mirror" gameplay reveal from the Xbox Partner Preview in November 2025, which demonstrates the spectral knight combat system in a boss fight sequence across the mirror-reality environment. The gallery shows Gwendolyn in combat across fog-drenched London streets, the shadow of a Colossal Knight towering above the city, cooperative knight attack sequences, warped London environments overtaken by the Outworld invasion, and enemy encounter and boss arena scenes.
