Resident Evil Requiem

The newest official gameplay update is Notice of Update Distribution, published on June 24, 2026. It reduced the difficulty of Forever - Rank 1 and Forever - Rank 2 in the permanent Leon Must Die Forever minigame, increased the usefulness of several enhancer skills, and fixed additional minor issues. Explosives Specialist received a much higher chance to preserve hand grenades, Throwing+ received stronger attack boosts for grenades and other throwable weapons, and Strategist received a longer duration and stronger attack boost.

Resident Evil Requiem combines combat, investigation, puzzles, exploration, and careful resource management. Players can switch freely between first-person and third-person views for both protagonists. Grace Ashcroft is an FBI analyst whose investigation takes her to the abandoned Wrenwood Hotel, where her mother Alyssa was murdered, and eventually connects her case to the ruined remains of Raccoon City.

Grace's gameplay places greater pressure on limited supplies, inventory decisions, evasion, and crafting. Leon S. Kennedy brings a more aggressive combat style using firearms, his hatchet, melee attacks, parries, enemy weapons, and customizable equipment carried in an attaché case. Leon is now an experienced DSO agent who survived the original Raccoon City Incident, giving the two campaigns deliberately different approaches to the same survival horror framework.

Post-launch permanent content also includes Photo Mode and Leon Must Die Forever, a separate minigame unlocked after completing the story. The mode sends Leon through repeated combat stages while players build combinations of enhancer abilities and work toward defeating the final boss within the available time.
