Fate/Grand Order is a story-driven turn-based mobile RPG in which the player becomes a Master of Chaldea and travels through unstable points in human history known as Singularities. Combat is built around parties of summoned Heroic Spirits called Servants, with each turn combining skills, three selected Quick, Arts, or Buster Command Cards, class affinities, Critical Stars, and Noble Phantasms. Outside battle, players progress through a visual-novel-style main scenario, strengthen and Ascend Servants, improve skills and Noble Phantasms, equip Craft Essences and Mystic Codes, and build teams around a large roster of historical, mythological, and fictional heroes.

Platforms and availability

Fate/Grand Order supports Android and iOS / iPadOS through the English international service. The application is distributed through Google Play and the App Store in supported countries and regions. The English service is separate from independently operated regional versions such as the Japanese service, so their release schedules, campaigns, and update states are not treated as Global English-service data.

Gameplay and setting

Players take the role of a Master working with Chaldea to prevent the destruction of humanity by traveling through abnormal points in history. Battles are turn based and split between a tactical phase, where Servant and Master Skills can be used, and a command phase, where three Quick, Arts, or Buster Command Cards are selected. Quick Cards help generate Critical Stars, Arts Cards build the NP Gauge, and Buster Cards emphasize damage. Selecting three cards from the same Servant adds an Extra Attack, while matching card types can trigger Quick, Arts, or Buster Chains. When a Servant's NP Gauge reaches 100%, the Servant can use a Noble Phantasm. Party building also depends on Class Affinity, Craft Essences, Servant levels, Ascension, skills, and other long-term enhancement systems. The main story is presented in visual-novel form and progresses through major arcs including Observer on Timeless Temple, Epic of Remnant, Cosmos in the Lostbelt, and Ordeal Call.
