Destiny: Rising is a sci-fi RPG shooter set in an alternate branch of the Destiny universe after humanity's Collapse. You begin as Wolf, a customizable Lightbearer, one of the game's resurrected super-powered heroes, then build a roster of characters who use different weapons and abilities to fight alien enemies. Combat can be played from first-person or third-person views across story missions, shared exploration, cooperative activities, six-player challenges, and competitive multiplayer. Between battles, players improve characters, collect and modify weapons, strengthen Artifacts, and prepare different loadouts for harder activities while exploring settlements and destinations across a rebuilding future Earth.

Platforms and availability

Destiny: Rising is primarily a mobile game for Android and iOS / iPadOS. Android distribution is handled through Google Play, while iPhone and iPad users can install the game through Apple's App Store.

NetEase also officially promotes MuMuPlayer for PC access, allowing Windows users to run the Android version rather than a separate native Windows client. Compatible Apple silicon Macs can use the MuMuPlayer macOS route for the same mobile game.

Cross-platform progression and social connections are supported across the mobile service. Cross-server play also links North America with Latin America and links EMEA with Asia Pacific, while all four server selections remain available.

The App Store lists support for compatible PlayStation, Xbox, and MFi controllers in addition to touchscreen controls.

Gameplay and setting

Destiny: Rising takes place in an alternate Destiny timeline after the Collapse, while humanity rebuilds around refuges such as Haven. Players begin as Wolf, a customizable Lightbearer, then unlock additional heroes with different weapons, elemental powers, abilities, and combat roles.

Combat can switch between first-person and third-person views. Each Lightbearer has a distinct set of abilities and weapon options, while progression comes from collecting weapons, applying weapon mods, strengthening Artifacts, improving characters, and preparing loadouts for different activities.

Activities range from campaign missions and destination exploration to Strikes, Haven Ops, Gauntlet activities, six-player challenges, cooperative modes, and competitive PvP such as Shifting Gates. Higher-difficulty activities including The Expanse, Operation Cordon, Singularity: Chaos, and Gauntlet: Blitz provide longer-term progression goals.

The shared-world structure also supports Fireteams and Packs. Players can explore with friends, enter matchmade activities, use Sparrows across larger destinations, and continue building their characters and equipment through recurring progression systems.
