CD PROJEKT RED's free PlayStation 5 Pro update is live from April 8, 2026 with PSSR, expanded ray tracing and three graphics modes. Patch 2.31 remains the latest numbered game patch, adding AutoDrive and Photo Mode improvements alongside quest, ray-tracing and Mac fixes.

Gameplay overview
Players shape V through attributes, perks, cyberware, firearms, melee weapons, stealth and quickhacks in a first-person open-world action RPG. Night City supports driving, gigs, combat encounters, crafting, dialogue choices, branching quests and specialized character builds.
Story, setting, or main mode
Mercenary V carries an experimental biochip containing Johnny Silverhand's digital personality and searches Night City for a way to survive. Phantom Liberty adds a spy-thriller campaign in Dogtown involving Solomon Reed, Songbird and the New United States.
