Windows PC players can buy Borderlands 4 through Steam or Epic Games Store, while PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store carry the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S editions. Nintendo still lists a Switch 2 product page with a TBD date, but that edition is not playable.

Gameplay overview

Players combine firearms, Vault Hunter Action Skills and branching skill trees with double jumps, gliding, dodging, grappling and Digirunner traversal. The campaign supports solo play, up to four players online with cross-play, and two-player split screen on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Story, setting, or main mode

Vex, Rafa, Amon and Harlowe crash onto Kairos, where the Timekeeper controls the population through his Order and cybernetic Bolts. The four Vault Hunters join a resistance across connected regions, defeat faction commanders and pursue the tyrant inside Dominion.
