Gameplay overview
Players fly, perch, dive and fight beak-to-beak with melee attacks, class abilities and physics-driven ragdoll knockback. Crow, Hummingbird, Shoebill and Pigeon define stealth, speed, tank and support roles, while proximity voice chat lets nearby rivals hear coordination, deception and panic during every match.
Story, setting, or main mode
Birds of War has no story campaign; its main Egg Siege format places three teams of three around three nests. Each flock raids rival nests, carries stolen eggs home and protects its own supply, with the highest egg total deciding the match.
Trailer, screenshots, and media
HexNest Games' trailer and gallery show jungle, Arctic and desert arenas, birds carrying eggs, class abilities, close-range aerial clashes, cosmetics and multi-team fights around nest routes.
Developer and publisher
Melbourne-based independent studio HexNest Games develops and self-publishes Birds of War in Unreal Engine 5. The project grew from a viral fake-game meme into a commercial multiplayer release built with community playtests.
