007 First Light is a third-person action-adventure game developed and published by IO Interactive, telling a standalone, re-imagined origin story of James Bond. You play a 26-year-old Royal Navy air crewman recruited into MI6's revived Double-0 programme, where a mission involving a rogue former 00 agent draws him into a wider conspiracy. Missions let you observe people and environments for clues, bluff or distract guards, use Q Branch gadgets to bypass obstacles, and switch between stealth, close-quarters fighting, and gunplay. Platforms and availability
On PC, the game is sold through Steam and the Epic Games Store and is Steam Deck Verified. On console, it is available on PlayStation 5, including PS5 Pro enhancements with PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution and a 60 FPS Quality Mode, and on Xbox Series X/S with Xbox Play Anywhere support. The Nintendo Switch 2 version will support both docked and handheld play once released. No PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version exists.
Gameplay and setting
007 First Light is built around IO Interactive's Creative Approach design, letting players tackle each mission through stealth, direct combat, or a mix of both. Four systems drive play: observation-based Spycraft, which rewards eavesdropping, pickpocketing, and reading environmental clues; Bond's Instinct, used to lure enemies, bluff past suspicion, or sharpen combat focus; Q Branch gadgets for hacking, lock-cutting, distraction, and takedowns; and fluid combat blending melee takedowns with ranged gunplay. The story follows a 26-year-old Bond as a Royal Navy air crewman recruited into MI6's revived Double-0 programme, whose training under mentor Greenway is upended when the rogue return of a former 00 agent, pursued from the Carpathian Mountains to the black market of Aleph and into the lair of the Pirate King Bawma, exposes a deeper conspiracy. Outside the campaign, the Tactical Simulation (TacSim) mode offers replayable, modifier-driven missions with progression-based unlocks.

Download and availability
PC players can buy 007 First Light through Steam or the Epic Games Store. Console players can purchase it via the PlayStation Store or Xbox Store, with a Nintendo eShop listing live ahead of the Switch 2 release. The game is also sold at retail and through Amazon in Standard, Deluxe, Collector's, and Legacy editions, with the Deluxe upgrade purchasable separately as post-launch DLC.

007 First Light has official minimum and recommended specifications on PC. Console versions run on fixed hardware, shown below, and Nintendo Switch 2 requirements are not yet available ahead of that version's release.
On PC, the game supports an uncapped framerate, NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 with Multi Frame Generation and Super Resolution, and Path Tracing with DLSS Ray Reconstruction for supported hardware.
