007 First Light

The newest release is Update 1.1.0, published July 24, 2026. It is IO Interactive's first major patch beyond the initial hotfix series, addressing over 200 community and internal issues spanning crashes, achievement unlocks, and mission-specific bugs. The update also adds two new TacSim Escalations, The Workshop and Extraction Avenues, along with new unlockable TacSim weapons and an outfit obtainable with in-game Intel currency.

007 First Light is built around IO Interactive's Creative Approach design, letting players tackle each mission through stealth, direct combat, or a mix of both. Four systems drive play: observation-based Spycraft, which rewards eavesdropping, pickpocketing, and reading environmental clues; Bond's Instinct, used to lure enemies, bluff past suspicion, or sharpen combat focus; Q Branch gadgets for hacking, lock-cutting, distraction, and takedowns; and fluid combat blending melee takedowns with ranged gunplay. The story follows a 26-year-old Bond as a Royal Navy air crewman recruited into MI6's revived Double-0 programme, whose training under mentor Greenway is upended when the rogue return of a former 00 agent, pursued from the Carpathian Mountains to the black market of Aleph and into the lair of the Pirate King Bawma, exposes a deeper conspiracy. Outside the campaign, the Tactical Simulation (TacSim) mode offers replayable, modifier-driven missions with progression-based unlocks.
