Split Fiction
Split Fiction is a premium co-op action-adventure game developed by Hazelight Studios and published by Electronic Arts. Players control Mio Hudson and Zoe Foster, two contrasting writers, one of science fiction and one of fantasy, who are pulled into a machine built to steal their creative ideas and trapped inside their own stories. Progression focuses on working through a constantly shifting sequence of co-op challenges across alternating sci-fi and fantasy worlds to escape the machine and reclaim their memories. Its defining gameplay identity is variety: nearly every level introduces new mechanics and abilities that require both players to coordinate in real time, from hoverboards and gravity bikes to shapeshifting animal forms.

Gameplay and setting
Mio Hudson and Zoe Foster are forcibly connected to a machine built by the sinister Rader to harvest their unpublished stories, trapping them inside a shared simulation. The core loop is built entirely around two-player coordination: platforming, puzzle-solving, combat, and stealth sequences all require both players acting together, with abilities and mechanics changing almost every level. Optional Side Stories, reached through hidden portals, let the pair revisit half-formed ideas from their pasts for extra bonus content outside the main path. The two protagonists start out at odds but grow into unlikely allies as they fight to escape with their memories intact.
