Pokémon GO Ozone Ascent Offers Rayquaza and Meteorite

The free Timed Research awards a Meteorite and a Rayquaza encounter during the July 25–26 event window.

A separate US$4.99 track adds Rayquaza Mega Energy while retaining the Meteorite and encounter rewards.

Both research tracks expire at 8:00 p.m. local time on July 26, so every task and reward claim must be finished before the cutoff.

Rayquaza needs Dragon Ascent before it can Mega Evolve, and the move can only be taught by using a Meteorite.

Ozone Ascent gives every Trainer access to a free research route for the item required to teach Dragon Ascent. Pokémon GO’s Help Center states that Mega Energy alone is insufficient and that neither a Charged TM nor an Elite Charged TM can teach Rayquaza the move.

The paid route costs US$4.99 or the equivalent local pricing tier. Tickets can be gifted only to friends at Great Friends level or higher, cannot be purchased with PokéCoins and are non-refundable except where applicable law or the Terms of Service provides otherwise.

The same July 26 deadline applies to completing tasks and claiming rewards on both the free and paid research tracks.

On July 26, 2026, the current Pokémon GO Help Center guidance was checked for Rayquaza’s Mega Evolution rules, including the Meteorite requirement and the restriction on Charged TMs.
