Pokémon GO Nickit Community Day Starts August 16

Nickit Community Day Schedule

Nickit is the featured Pokémon for Pokémon GO's August 2026 Community Day on August 16. The main Community Day period runs from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.

Nickit will appear more frequently in the wild during the event. Encounters can include Shiny Nickit and Nickit with a Special Background.

Thievul Gets Icy Wind

Evolving Nickit during Community Day or during the four hours after the main event ends gives you a Thievul that knows the Charged Attack Icy Wind.

This extends the evolution deadline to 9:00 p.m. local time on August 16.

Regular Lure Modules also provide an extended Nickit encounter window. From 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. local time, Nickit has a very high chance of appearing at PokéStops with active regular Lure Modules. Nickit attracted this way keeps its increased Shiny chance and can also have a Special Background.

Community Day Event Bonuses

The main Community Day period includes several catching, trading, and item duration bonuses.

• 3x Stardust for catching Pokémon.
• 2x Candy for catching Pokémon.
• 2x chance for Trainers level 31 and above to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon.
• Incense lasts for three hours when activated during the event, excluding Daily Adventure Incense.
• Taking snapshots during Community Day can trigger a surprise.
• Lure Modules last for one hour and can attract Nickit.
• One additional Special Trade is available, allowing a maximum of two Special Trades for the day.
• Trades require 50 percent less Stardust.

Note: Most bonuses run during the main 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. event. The Lure Module bonus, additional Special Trade, and reduced Stardust trading cost remain active from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. local time.

Nickit Community Day Special Research

Nickit has an event-exclusive Community Day Special Research ticket. The announcement lists access at US$1.99 or the equivalent local pricing tier.

The Special Research includes the following confirmed rewards:

• Three Nickit encounters with a Special Background.
• Additional encounters with Nickit.
• One Premium Battle Pass.
• One Rare Candy XL.
• Additional rewards beyond those specifically listed in the announcement.

The Special Research does not include an in-game medal and does not feature a story. Tickets are nonrefundable subject to applicable law and the exceptions in the game's Terms of Service.

Tickets can also be gifted through the in-game shop. The sender and recipient must have reached Great Friends or a higher Friendship level, and a ticket cannot be gifted to someone who has already purchased one or has already received one as a gift.

Nickit Community Day Ultra Box

The official Pokémon GO Web Store currently lists the Nickit Community Day Ultra Box as available.

The Web Store bundle contains:

• One Nickit Community Day Ticket.
• Five Ultra Balls.

The bundle is marked as available only through the Pokémon GO Web Store.

Field Research and Special Background Encounters

Community Day themed Field Research will be available during the event. Catching Nickit through these tasks can reward Stardust, Ultra Balls, and additional Nickit encounters.

Some Field Research can also lead to Nickit with a Special Background.

Players who check in at a Community Ambassador event can receive Timed Research that provides additional encounters with Nickit carrying a Special Background as well as premium item rewards.

The official Community Day map can be used to find Community Ambassador events and popular local parks. Campfire can also be used to find local meetups when no Community Ambassador event is available nearby.
