Gameplay overview

The Coalition retains Gears' cover-based shooting while adding jumping, smoother vaulting, sprint slides, varied cover heights and vertical flanking. Destructible cover, E-holes, rebuilt weapons, executions and new tools such as the Gut Puncher and Incinerator expand combat.

Story, setting, or main mode

The campaign follows Marcus Fenix, Dominic Santiago, Mags Carter and Lucas Reyes across three days in Kalona as the Locust first erupt beneath Sera. It supports solo play, console two-player split-screen and four-player online co-op; multiplayer adds 12-player Horde Siege PvE and 4v4 Versus.
