Gears of War: E-Day
Gears of War: E-Day is an origin-story prequel set fourteen years before the original Gears of War, following Marcus Fenix, Dominic Santiago, Mags Carter, and Lucas Reyes as Bravo Squad fights through the first three days of the Locust invasion in Kalona. The campaign rebuilds the series' cover combat around smoother transitions, low cover, sprinting, sliding, jumping, climbing, destructible battlefields, new weapons, and the battlefield origin of the Chainsaw Lancer. Players can fight alone, use two-player split-screen on Xbox consoles, or play the campaign online with four players, while Horde Siege and Versus provide separate cooperative PvE and competitive PvP progression.

PC players can use Xbox on PC or Steam, and Xbox Play Anywhere provides shared access and progression between Xbox Series X/S and the Microsoft Store PC version. Xbox also lists cloud gaming support. Gameplay and setting
The campaign takes place fourteen years before the original Gears of War and follows Bravo Squad through Kalona during the first three days of the Locust invasion. Marcus Fenix, Dominic Santiago, Mags Carter, and Lucas Reyes are playable from the start, and the entire story stays with their squad. Kalona is an integrated city rather than an open-world map, with encounters ranging from narrow streets to larger districts and vertical routes. The rebuilt cover system adds more cover shapes and heights, low-ground cover, smoother transitions, sprinting, sliding, jumping, climbing, and destructible cover. Familiar weapons such as the Gnasher and Longshot return alongside the Gut Puncher grenade launcher and the Incinerator shotgun, while the campaign shows the battlefield creation of the Chainsaw Lancer. E-holes can open during encounters and can be closed with grenades.
Horde Siege expands cooperative PvE into a 12-player battlefield where three four-player squads operate across shared maps, complete missions, gather Energy, improve equipment, and fight major threats. Launch classes are Assault, Breacher, Marksman, and Medic. Versus uses 4v4 fair-start matches with Power Weapons and no weapon mods, with Team Deathmatch, Conquest, Demolition, and Crucible available as core launch modes across Outpost, Battleship, Park, Precinct, Market, and Skyward.
