Pokémon Champions is The Pokémon Works’ free-to-start battle game for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Android, iPhone and iPad. It supports cross-platform matches, Pokémon HOME partners and the active Season M-4 ranked rules.

Ranked Battles Season M-4 runs from July 8 to August 5, 2026 under Regulation Set M-B. The Pokémon Company’s July 8 maintenance fixed bugs, while Apple lists version 1.1.4 with the same release date.
Release date and status
GAME FREAK’s works page records the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 launch on April 8, 2026, followed by the iPhone, iPad and Android release on June 17, 2026. Pokémon Champions is a released cross-platform battle service.

Platforms and availability
The released version covers Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Android and iOS / iPadOS. The Pokémon Company supports cross-platform play between mobile devices and both Nintendo systems; no PC, PlayStation or Xbox version appears in its current platform listings.
Gameplay overview
Ranked, Casual and Private Battles support Single and Double formats. Players earn Victory Points to recruit Pokémon, train stats, alter moves and Abilities, and customize Trainers, while compatible partners can visit through Pokémon HOME.
Story, setting, or main mode
Pokémon Champions has no story campaign; competitive Pokémon battles are its main mode. Play! Pokémon uses the game as the standard VGC platform for official competitive matches, with seasonal regulations determining eligible Pokémon, items and Mega Evolutions.

Nintendo’s overview trailer shows recruitment, team training, Mega Evolution and Single and Double battles. The screenshots cover move selection, Victory Point rewards, roster management, training and Trainer customization.

The Pokémon Works developed Pokémon Champions. GAME FREAK and The Pokémon Company planned and produced it; Nintendo sells the Nintendo Switch edition, while The Pokémon Company publishes and sells the mobile editions.

Download and availability
Pokémon Champions is free to download through Nintendo eShop, Google Play and the App Store, with optional in-game purchases. The paid Starter Pack bundle is available only for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
