Petit Planet is a cozy life simulation game from HoYoverse set across a gentle starry sea. You play as a Planet Tender, the caretaker of a small planet of your own, and your job is to slowly turn it into a home. You can plant and harvest crops, fish, cook, craft, and decorate both your house and the landscape itself. As you deepen friendships with fuzzy animal-like companions called Neighbors, a life-giving energy called Luca reshapes your planet, unlocking new terrain and scenery. Between quiet days at home, you can board a vehicle with your Neighbors for a Starsea Voyage to discover new islets, or visit the Galactic Bazaar, a social hub where you can meet, dance, and spend time with other players.

Petit Planet will begin its Final Beta Test on September 20, 2026, with sign-ups now open on the official website. The test runs on PC and mobile, includes a data wipe, and serves as the last closed testing phase before launch. HoYoverse confirmed the beta alongside its gamescom 2026 appearance, where the game was playable on the show floor from August 26 to August 30, 2026.
Release date and status
Petit Planet is an upcoming free-to-play game with a confirmed Winter 2026 launch window. An exact release date has not been announced yet. The game was first revealed on September 25, 2025, and has since run two closed tests: the Coziness Test from November 7 to December 1, 2025, and the Stardrift Test from April 21 to May 25, 2026. HoYoverse states that additional platforms beyond PC and mobile are in development, but no console version has been announced.

Platforms and availability
Petit Planet is confirmed for PC, Android, and iOS. On PC it will be distributed through the Epic Games Store, HoYoPlay, and the official client download, while the mobile versions are available for pre-registration on Google Play and the App Store. Pre-registration is also open directly through the official website, with milestone rewards that scale with the total number of registrants. HoYoverse describes the game as free-to-play and cross-platform, so PC and mobile players are expected to share the same game world.
Gameplay and setting
In Petit Planet, you take on the role of a Planet Tender caring for a small planet of your own in a vast starry ocean. Daily life revolves around relaxing activities such as planting and harvesting crops, fishing, mining, cooking, and crafting. You can customize your character, furnish your home, and arrange outdoor spaces, and a life-giving energy called Luca responds to your progress by reshaping the sky, grasslands, and beaches of your planet.
Relationships are the heart of the game. Fuzzy, animal-like companions known as Neighbors can be invited to settle on your planet, and each one carries their own personality, story, and dreams that grow through conversation and gift-giving. When you want to venture further, you can board a vehicle with your Neighbors for a Starsea Voyage to explore unknown islets, find rare creatures, and uncover hidden recipes. The Galactic Bazaar acts as a shared social hub where players gather for coffee, festivals, fortune-telling, dancing, and auctions, giving the game a persistent multiplayer layer on top of its single-planet life sim loop.

Download and availability
Petit Planet is not downloadable yet, but pre-registration is open on the official website, on the Epic Games Store page, through HoYoPlay, and on the App Store and Google Play listings. Pre-registering grants launch rewards, including the Bestie Star-Light companion item, with additional milestone rewards such as the Sproutling Outfit Set unlocked as global pre-registration totals grow.
