Platforms and availability

Marvel Rivals is available on Windows PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Cross-platform multiplayer connects supported systems. Cross-progression can link Epic, Steam, Loading Bay, PlayStation, and Xbox accounts to one selected primary character, while PC, PlayStation, and Xbox ranks and leaderboard records remain separate.

Gameplay overview

Matches use a third-person 6v6 format built around objective play, team composition, and the distinct abilities of Marvel heroes and villains. Vanguard, Duelist, and Strategist characters contribute durability, damage, healing, control, mobility, and utility, while Team-Up Abilities unlock extra interactions between compatible characters.

Destructible environments can open routes, remove cover, or alter sightlines during combat. Seasonal balance updates regularly adjust hero abilities and Team-Up combinations.

Story, setting, or main mode

A Timestream Entanglement pulls heroes, villains, locations, and alternate realities together across the Marvel Multiverse. Seasonal stories move through settings such as Thebes and other Marvel locations, but the primary playable structure remains competitive team-based multiplayer rather than a fixed single-player campaign.
