Marvel Rivals
Marvel Rivals is a free-to-play hero shooter developed by NetEase Games in collaboration with Marvel Games and published by NetEase Games. Players assemble a six-person squad of Marvel Super Heroes and Super Villains and compete in 6v6 team-based matches set across destructible locations from the Marvel Multiverse. Matches are won by capturing objectives, escorting a Convoy, or holding a Domination point, while players progress through seasonal Battle Pass tiers, hero mastery, and a separate ranked Competitive ladder. Its defining gameplay centers on the Team-Up system, which lets specific hero pairings combine their powers into unique joint abilities that change how a match is played.

Platforms and availability
Marvel Rivals is playable on PC through Steam, Epic Games Store, and NetEase's own Loading Bay launcher, and on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X/S through their respective first-party stores. The PS5 version supports PS5 Pro enhancements, and PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X support a High Frame Rate mode of up to 120 FPS on compatible displays. Quick Match supports matchmaking across PC and console, though ranked Competitive play separates PC from console players.
Gameplay and setting
Each match pits two teams of six players against each other, with every hero assigned to one of three roles: Vanguard, Duelist, or Strategist. Matches rotate through three core objective types, Domination, Convoy, and Convergence, and take place on destructible maps where the environment itself can be reshaped mid-fight. The signature system is Team-Up, which grants specific hero pairings joint abilities that go beyond either character's normal kit. Beyond casual Quick Match, players can climb a separate ranked Competitive ladder once they reach the required account level. The setting follows the Timestream Entanglement, a conflict in which the tyrannical Doctor Doom and his future counterpart Doom 2099 have caused countless Marvel universes to collide, forcing heroes and villains from across the multiverse to fight alongside and against one another.
