Xbox Game Studios will release Halo: Campaign Evolved worldwide on July 28, 2026. Premium and Collector's Edition owners received up to five days of early access beginning July 23, so the game is playable now for eligible buyers while the base release remains upcoming.

Xbox's official game page and Halo Support list Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC through the Xbox app, Microsoft Store and Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro and Xbox Cloud Gaming. Digital Xbox purchases support Xbox Play Anywhere, while Microsoft-account linking enables cross-play and shared progression across Xbox, PC and PlayStation.
Gameplay overview
Halo Studios rebuilds the Halo: Combat Evolved campaign with updated controls, cinematics, audio and wayfinding while expanding the sandbox with nine additional weapons, vehicle hijacking, a drivable Wraith, more enemies and additional Skulls. Campaign Remix can randomize enemies, placed weapons, behavior and active modifiers after its unlock conditions are met.
Story, setting, or main mode
The primary campaign retells Master Chief and Cortana's arrival on the Halo ring. Operation: METEORITE adds three prequel missions set one year earlier, following Master Chief and Sergeant Avery Johnson during a covert operation aboard a Covenant research vessel; every campaign mission supports solo play and online co-op.

The US Standard Edition costs $49.99, Premium costs $69.99 and the Premium Upgrade costs $20.00. The $199.99 Collector's Edition is sold out; qualifying pre-orders receive the Foundry Armory Pack, while Premium includes the Alpha Halo Armory Pack, three digital publications and early access.
