Duet Night Abyss
Duet Night Abyss is a free-to-play action RPG set on Atlasia, a continent where magic and machinery sit side by side and a shape-shifting threat called the Demons of a Hundred Faces stirs up old conflicts. The story runs on two tracks, one following a hunter you create and customize yourself, the other a second lead whose path slowly crosses theirs. Every character carries both a close-range weapon and a firearm and can swap between them in the middle of a fight, so a single combo can move from sword strikes to gunfire without stopping, and a jump ability called Helix Leap keeps the fighting in the air as much as on the ground. Unusually for this kind of game, characters and weapons are unlocked by playing rather than through a gacha, and most paid items are cosmetic.

Gameplay and setting
Duet Night Abyss takes place on Atlasia, a continent where magic and machinery coexist. Its story is told through two protagonists with different backgrounds whose journeys gradually intersect as they investigate conflicts surrounding the shape-shifting Demons of a Hundred Faces.
One side of the narrative follows the customizable Phoxhunter, whose default identity can be Vita or Mors depending on player selection. After an imperial invasion separates the protagonist from home and childhood friend Berenica, the Phoxhunter is drawn into Icelake and the wider conflicts of Atlasia.
Combat combines hack-and-slash melee attacks with third-person shooting. Characters can equip both a melee weapon and a ranged weapon and switch between them freely during combat, allowing players to combine close-range combos, gunfire, abilities, aerial attacks, and movement skills.
Helix Leap is the game's signature aerial traversal mechanic. It allows characters to move quickly through three-dimensional environments and connect ground movement with airborne combat.
Weapon categories include Swords, Katanas, Dual Blades, Whipblades, Greatswords, Polearms, Pistols, Dual Pistols, Shotguns, Assault Rifles, Sniper Rifles, Grenade Launchers, Crossbows, and other specialized weapons. Individual characters have weapon proficiencies but are not limited to a single fixed combat style.
Demon Wedges function as the central build-modification system. Character and weapon Wedges alter statistics, skill behavior, movement, elemental interactions, and other combat properties, while Golden blueprints support higher-level build development.
Unlike a traditional character gacha RPG, Duet Night Abyss makes playable characters and weapons obtainable through gameplay. Character fragments and weapon materials are earned through systems such as Secret Letters, Immersive Theatre, Nocturnal Echoes, Forging, Memento exchanges, and commissions.
Online content includes Regional Co-op and Immersive Theatre: Ensemble Act, while solo progression includes story chapters, side quests, commissions, Noctoyager Manual progression, exploration, combat challenges, Myriad content, Sanctuary features, and recurring version events.
