Latest update
Version 15.535.29 released on iOS on August 5, 2026 with minor bug fixes and improvements. The current gameplay balance patch went live on August 4, reducing the hitpoints of Fire Spirit, Ice Spirit, Heal Spirit, and Electro Spirit, changing most Hero and Champion abilities from cooldown-based to single-use, and adjusting cards including Void, Witch Evolution, Battle Healer, X-Bow, Mortar, and several other Evolutions. The August K.H.A.O.S season also introduced Hero Valkyrie, Hero Berserker, and Elite Barbarians Evolution.
Release date and status
Clash Royale released globally on March 2, 2016 and remains an actively supported live-service game. An official Windows version became globally available through Google Play Games on October 23, 2023, extending the same game to supported PCs with mouse controls and synchronized progress with mobile devices.

Platforms and availability
Clash Royale supports Android through Google Play, iPhone and iPad through the App Store, and Windows PCs through Google Play Games. Supercell states that the Windows release uses the Android version of Clash Royale and adds mouse controls and graphics optimized for PC while retaining synchronization with the mobile game.
Gameplay and setting
Clash Royale centers on short real-time battles in which players spend Elixir to deploy troop, spell, and building cards from a prepared Battle Deck. Each side protects Crown Towers while attempting to destroy the opponent's towers, with positioning, deployment timing, Elixir management, card interactions, and deck construction determining how a match develops.
Cards can be collected and upgraded through the progression system, with Level 16 currently serving as the maximum card level. The roster includes ordinary cards alongside Champions, Heroes, Tower Troops, and Card Evolutions, while Collection Level tracks broader account progression based on card development and other collection upgrades.
Competitive progression spans Trophy Road, Seasonal Trophy Road, Ranked, Challenges, Global Tournaments, Friendly Battles, and Clan Wars. Clash Royale also includes seasonal events and alternate systems such as Merge Tactics, while cosmetic progression includes Emotes, Tower Skins, Battle Banners, Badges, and other collectible rewards.
