Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is Ubisoft Singapore’s paid, single-player action-adventure game — a ground-up remake that sends Edward Kenway back across the Caribbean. It’s been out on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC since July 9, 2026, with Title Update 1.0.4 as the current version.

Title Update 1.0.4 is live as of July 16, 2026. Ubisoft’s patch notes list save and load fixes, localized voiceover and cutscene corrections, performance and stability improvements, a custom-PC-cutscene frame-rate fix, indoor-lighting repairs and an advanced-parkour double-jump fix; Ubisoft has also announced New Game+ without a release date.

Release date and status

Ubisoft released Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC on July 9, 2026. It is a released, standalone single-player remake and does not include a multiplayer mode.

Platforms and availability

PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC are playable now. Ubisoft distributes the PC version through Ubisoft Store, Steam and Epic Games Store, includes the game with Ubisoft+, supports GeForce Now and Blacknut streaming, and lists the Steam release as Steam Deck Verified; PlayStation confirms there is no PS4 version.

Gameplay overview

Players captain the Jackdaw across a seamless open-world Caribbean, boarding ships, trading cannon fire, diving for wrecks, hunting treasure and moving between settlements on foot. Ubisoft Singapore rebuilds combat around parries and takedowns, expands stealth with crouch-anywhere and Observe mode, improves parkour, adds recruitable naval officers and alternate-fire weapons, and retains ship, hideout and equipment progression in a paid game with optional in-game purchases.

Story, setting, or main mode

The campaign follows Edward Kenway from privateer to pirate and Assassin between 1715 and 1722, as his pursuit of fortune draws him into the conflict between Assassins and Templars. Blackbeard, Anne Bonny, Calico Jack and Stede Bonnet return, while the remake adds new character material and the eight-mission A World Without Gold endgame chapter.

Ubisoft’s world premiere trailer and PlayStation’s gallery show Edward Kenway, the Jackdaw, naval battles, sword combat, stealth approaches, Caribbean islands and rebuilt colonial settlements.

Developer and publisher

Ubisoft Singapore is the lead developer, with support from several Ubisoft studios, and Ubisoft publishes the game. The remake uses the current Anvil engine to rebuild the original adventure for current hardware.

Download and availability

The Standard Edition costs $59.99 and the Deluxe Edition costs $69.99. PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Ubisoft Store, Steam and Epic Games Store carry digital versions, while console physical copies are sold through retailers.

System / Device Requirements

Ubisoft publishes additional 1440p High and 4K Ultra targets; the table keeps its minimum and standard 1080p recommended tiers. The Windows installation requires one online connection, but the full campaign can run offline afterward.
