Gameplay and setting
Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is an open-world action-adventure game set in the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy. Players control Edward Kenway, a Welsh privateer who becomes captain of the Jackdaw and is drawn into the conflict between the Assassins and Templars while pursuing fortune, influence, and the secrets of the Observatory.
On land, the remake rebuilds combat around parries and dynamic takedowns while expanding stealth with unrestricted crouching, improved Eagle Vision and Observe Mode, and more flexible approaches to missions. Parkour has been modernized with smoother movement, manual jumping options, side ejects, back ejects, and improved transitions between traversal actions.
Naval exploration remains central to progression. Players sail and upgrade the Jackdaw, attack and board enemy vessels, manage Kenway's Fleet, explore underwater wrecks, hunt resources, and move through a seamless Caribbean open world with dynamic weather and modernized environmental rendering.
Resynced expands the original campaign rather than replacing it with a different story. New missions and story arcs develop characters including Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet, three officers join Edward during the main narrative, and additional content includes new sea shanties, ship pets, Photo Mode, and other additions built specifically for the remake.
Trailer, screenshots, and media
The selected game overview trailer and gallery show Edward Kenway exploring Havana, sailing and fighting aboard the Jackdaw, diving through a shipwreck, using the rebuilt melee and parkour systems, and encountering returning characters including Anne Bonny.
