Aether Gazer

The current global version is 4.7, released on August 4, 2026. Starting with this version, some update cycles have begun running shorter than before as the global server works to catch up with the Chinese version's content ahead of the game's final major update. The operator has confirmed that Version 5.2 on December 1, 2026 will be the last update to add new story chapters, characters, or events.

Aether Gazer is set inside Gaea, a virtual network that humanity uploaded its consciousness into after war made Earth uninhabitable. Human consciousness is organized into ten Sephirah zones, including Yggdrasill, Olympus, Shinou, Nile, and Asterism, that are working to build a shared civilization called Idealbild while hostile programs known as Visbanes threaten to destroy it.

Players take the role of an Administrator who commands a three-character squad of Modifiers, humanlike combat programs with distinct skillsets, in real-time battles against Visbanes. Combat centers on directly controlling one Modifier while two AI-controlled teammates fight alongside them, and pairing specific Modifiers together triggers character skill chains that build into a shared Ultimate Skillchain finisher. Outside combat, players strengthen their squad by upgrading Modifiers and equipping Functors and Sigils while progressing through story chapters set across Gaea's zones.
