How to Trade Cards With Friends in Pokémon TCG Pocket

Before you can trade, both players must have had access to Pokémon TCG Pocket long enough for the trading feature to unlock. Pokémon Support states that trading becomes available 14 days after starting the game.

You can trade only with players who are already on your friends list. You also cannot start another trade while you or the friend has another active trade.

Note: A friend can also disable incoming trade offers through Menu > Other > Settings > Trade > Suspend Trade Offers. They can still send offers while that setting is enabled.

Your friend opens Social Hub > Trade and views your offer. To continue, they select a card that qualifies for that specific trade and send it back as their response.

The two cards must have the same rarity. Pokémon Support also states that a card with flair must be matched with another card with flair, and a card with a gold frame must be matched with another gold-frame card.

After your friend responds, return to Social Hub > Trade, open the response, review the card, and select Trade if you want to complete the exchange.

If a card exists in more than one expansion, use Edit Card before sending it. Select Set under the expansion option, choose the expansion you want, then select Select.

When a friend offers you a card, select View, then open Trade Info to check its expansion information before completing the exchange.

You can also choose a specific card language or flair from Edit Card. These details matter because the trade system filters which cards can be offered in response.

Official Pokémon information expanded trading to cards from recent booster packs and made the following rarity groups eligible: ♦, ♦♦, ♦♦♦, ♦♦♦♦, ★, ★★, Shiny 1, and Shiny 2.

Do not rely on an old list when choosing a card. Open Social Hub > Trade, tap the ? button at the top-right, then select Detailed trade list to see which cards are currently available for trading.

Some trades also consume Shinedust. The required amount depends on the card rarity and is displayed before the trade is completed. You can check the rules through Social Hub > Trade > ? > About trade rules.

Go to My Cards, open Card Details for a card you want, then tap the Wishlist button in the top-right corner. Pokémon Support currently allows up to 40 cards on your wishlist.

You can choose up to three wishlisted cards to show prominently to other players. If you do not select them yourself, the Trade and Share screens automatically show your three most recently wishlisted cards.

To inspect a friend's complete wishlist, open that player's profile and select View Wishlist.

Once both players approve the exchange, the traded card is added to the receiving player's collection. You can review completed activity through Social Hub > Trade > History.

The history screen stores your 30 most recent trades from the last 90 days, which is useful when checking where a card went or confirming an earlier exchange.

• Check the 14-day unlock. Trading is unavailable if either player has not yet unlocked the feature.
• Check for another active trade. You cannot trade with multiple players at the same time. Complete or cancel the current trade first.
• Check the friend's trade settings. A friend using Suspend Trade Offers cannot receive your offer.
• Check card eligibility. Open Social Hub > Trade > ? > Detailed trade list if a card does not appear.
• Check rarity and card properties. The response card must match the offered card's rarity. Flair and gold-frame requirements must also match when applicable.
• Check your Shinedust. Open About trade rules from the ? button to see the cost for the rarity you are trying to trade.
• Wait if the Trade button is gray. Pokémon Support says trading can be temporarily suspended when too many players are using the feature at the same time.

If an active trade is canceled or cannot be completed during a temporary trading suspension, the cards and items involved are returned and consumed Trade Stamina is restored.
