Ragnarok: The New World is Gravity Game Vision's open-world Ragnarok MMORPG, rebuilding Midgard as a continuous world that players can explore by land, water, and air. One character can switch between classes and combat roles, develop different skill builds, fight MVP monsters, capture pets, refine equipment, join parties and guilds, and continue collecting resources through offline progression. The newest major availability milestone is the game's Steam release. An official Steam Community announcement on August 17, 2026 confirms that Ragnarok: The New World is now available to download through Steam, replacing the delayed Steam status used by the earlier profile. The Steam store records its release date as July 26, 2026.
On Apple devices, the App Store currently lists Version 2.0.5, dated August 10, with an optimization to the secondary-password rules. The August 6 content update also made the Crusader and Monk second-job branches available, while current promotional material features Siege War guild battles.
Release date and status
Ragnarok: The New World first launched in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau on January 15, 2026. Gravity Game Vision then launched the Southeast Asia service, excluding Vietnam, on July 16, 2026 for PC and mobile. Steam subsequently became available, while Gravity's August business update says preparation for a broader global launch outside certain regions is still underway.

Platforms and availability
The current native platform lineup consists of Windows PC, Android, iPhone, and iPad. Windows players can use Gravity Game Vision's official PC client or Steam, while Android uses Google Play and Apple's mobile release is distributed through the App Store.
The game is designed around shared PC and mobile access. Gravity Game Vision states that progression synchronizes between phone, tablet, and PC, allowing players to continue the same adventure across supported device types.
Gameplay and setting
Ragnarok: The New World turns Midgard into a continuous open world built around free exploration. Players can climb, swim, fly, use mounts, complete quests, enter dungeons, fight bosses, and participate in multiplayer activities rather than moving only through isolated traditional Ragnarok maps.
Class switching lets one character move between different combat roles without starting another character from the beginning. The established basic jobs include Swordman, Mage, Archer, Acolyte, Thief, and Merchant, while Druid introduces Werewolf, Wereraptor, and Human Arcanist forms. Crusader and Monk are also available as second-job branches.
Character development combines skills, stat allocation, equipment, refining, pets, mounts, and customizable builds. Free skill and stat resets reduce the cost of experimenting with different roles, while offline auto-hunting continues generating resources while the player is away.
MVP monsters can become mounts, and World Catch expands creature collection with non-combat pet capture. Multiplayer systems include parties, guild activities, PvP, GvG and Siege War, while the economy supports auctions, player stalls, and trading for Gold Coins.
Social progression includes clothing customization and dyeing, marriage, couple rewards, duo teleportation, shared housing, and albums. These systems sit alongside the familiar Ragnarok setting, with Prontera serving as one of the recognizable hubs for adventurers and large-scale player activity.

The selected gameplay trailer and full-resolution gallery show the game's redesigned Midgard, open-world traversal, forest exploration, social gathering spaces, and the ability to climb, swim, and travel through the world in different ways.

Download and availability
Ragnarok: The New World is free-to-play.
