The ongoing 1st Anniversary celebration is the game's current major milestone, having launched in August 2026. The update introduced Main Story Chapter 14: Kaiju A Disaster: Final Showdown, bringing the narrative to its ultimate confrontation in New York. New playable 5-star characters include Reno Ichikawa (Dimensional Numbers Weapon 6) and Kikoru Shinomiya (Numbers Weapon 4). A mega anniversary campaign distributes over 25,000 Dimensional Crystals through login bonuses and event rewards. Additional events include the Special Event Valkyrie of Aspiration, Large Conquest, Kaiju Rush, and a new Fierce Battle Area stage.

KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME launched worldwide on August 31, 2025 for iOS and Android. The PC version via Steam followed on September 30, 2025. Platforms and availability
The game is available on iOS / iPadOS, Android, and PC (Steam). There is no Mac support. The PC version requires a Google or Apple account for cross-platform linking with mobile progress. A dedicated Official Web Store offers Dimensional Crystal purchases at better value than in-app purchases, with web-exclusive packs and special deals.
Gameplay and setting
Combat is built around turn-based command battles with a squad of four Defense Force officers. Players select skills to attack, and when a kaiju's core is exposed through weak-point targeting, the squad unleashes coordinated follow-up attacks and devastating Ultimate abilities. Each officer fills a specific role: Attacker, Support, or Defender. The game features three distinct story modes. Main Story follows the original CLOZER unit led by Sagan Shinomiya against dimensional kaiju gates. Memories recreates iconic scenes from the manga and anime. Character Stories unlock at Player Rank 6 and explore individual officer narratives. Character development includes attribute enhancement, skill upgrades, and the Unipart R&D equipment crafting system with randomly generated stats. An idle Exploration mini-game allows recruiting and upgrading characters to advance through kaiju gauntlets.
