The latest official patch is Devoid of Liberty 7.0.2, released on August 25, 2026. It fixes a crash that could occur while browsing the Vehicle Customization menu, a Dynamic Resolution Scaling crash, and several crashes connected to Message of the Day. It follows the larger Devoid of Liberty 7.0.0 update from August 12, which opened the Void frontier, added the Wretch and Crusher to the Illuminate threat, introduced SEAF support squads as a planet modifier, expanded the player rank cap to 300, and increased the emote wheel capacity from four to eight.

Players serve as elite Helldivers fighting for Super Earth in a persistent Galactic War against threats including the Terminids, Automatons, and Illuminate. Missions begin from the Super Destroyer and send squads into procedurally generated planetary battlefields to complete primary and secondary objectives, destroy enemy positions, gather Samples and other resources, and reach extraction. Operations can contain multiple missions, while Major Orders and Galactic Campaigns connect individual deployments to shared community progress. Stratagems let players call down support weapons, ammunition, orbital attacks, Eagle airstrikes, sentries, vehicles, and other battlefield tools by entering command sequences. Friendly fire is always active, so positioning and coordination matter as much as firepower. Long-term progression uses Requisition to unlock Stratagems, Samples to improve Ship Modules, and War Medals to unlock items from Warbonds. Super Credits can be earned during play or purchased and are used for Warbonds and other supported acquisition routes.
