Latest update
The September 9, 2026 update is now the current Chaos Zero Nightmare update cycle. Apple has released client version 1.0.461, replacing version 1.0.450 from August 19. The September update continues Galactic Disaster Season 4 with Chapter 3 and introduces new Combatant Olga alongside the next phase of The Great Rift featuring boss Anis.
Olga is a 5-star Psionic Combatant with the Instinct Ego Attribute and is affiliated with Wanderer. Her damage-over-time focused kit interacts with Fracture, Agony, and Shattering. She can increase allied DoT output, activate existing Fracture and Agony effects, and use Shattering to deal additional Fixed Damage based on damage-over-time dealt by allies.
Anis changes The Great Rift encounter around summoned Fragments. The Fragments must be pressured together through multi-target attacks or DoT activations before they become vulnerable. Repeatedly forcing Fragments to recover weakens Anis, but the encounter also increases Stress pressure as the boss becomes weaker, making damage planning and Stress management important parts of the fight.
The September 9 update follows the August 19 Season 4 Chapter 2 cycle, which introduced Arabella, Licinia, the Save Data Download System, the first phase of The Great Rift, additional Full-Scale Offensive features, and the SS Deneb storyline.

Gameplay and setting
Chaos Zero Nightmare takes place in a dark science-fantasy universe threatened by Chaos, a black fog capable of consuming planets and radically distorting their environments and lifeforms. Players serve as the First, captain of the interstellar ark SS Nightmare, and command agents during missions tied to humanity's struggle against the expanding disaster.
Turn-based battles are built around teams of three Combatants and three Partners. Combatants contribute cards to the available deck, and players spend limited resources each turn to sequence attacks, defenses, healing, buffs, debuffs, and character-specific mechanics.
Chaos Missions add roguelike progression through randomized choices and changing card upgrades. Instead of every run disappearing completely after completion, the game allows successful builds to produce Save Data that can be carried into other game modes. This makes deck construction during Chaos runs a major part of long-term account progression.
Stress forms another defining layer of combat. Combatants can accumulate Stress and enter Collapse States tied to their psychological trauma. Surviving or overcoming these states can unlock Awakening Skills and other powerful effects, tying the game's psychological horror presentation directly into its combat systems.
Long-running activities include Story Mode, Galactic Disaster, Chaos content, The Great Rift, Full-Scale Offensive, Basin of Hyperspace, Sortie, seasonal events, character development, equipment progression, Save Data optimization, and agent recruitment.
